Gabriele Piana was in unbeatable form in Free Practice 2 of ADAC GT4 Germany at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Behind his BMW were two Mercedes-AMG and a Toyota.
The first day of practice at the third race weekend of this season’s ADAC GT4 Germany has drawn to a close – and there was little to choose between the whole field at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The fastest lap of Free Practice 2 came courtesy of Gabriele Piana (39/ITA), who shares a BMW M4 GT4 with Benjamin Sylvestersson (19/FIN, both FK Performance Motorsport) and stopped the clock at 1:30.873 minutes. Oschersleben has proven to be a happy hunting ground for Piana, who has already won six ADAC GT4 Germany races at the 3.667-kilometre circuit in the Magdeburg Börde region.
“The car and the circuit felt really good today. Basically, I like Oschersleben; I enjoy driving here – and not just because I have won a few races here in the past,” says Piana. “We would like to finish on the top step of the podium again this weekend. Let’s see whether we manage that. Only as the race weekend unfolds will we get an idea of how strong the opposition really is.”
Piana’s flying lap was the fastest of the day in ADAC GT4 Germany in Oschersleben. Second place, 0.080 seconds slower, went to Marius Schmid (18/Tengen) and Alex Connor (22/GBR) in a Mercedes-AMG GT4. This is the best result of the season so far for the duo from BWT Mücke Motorsport.
Third fastest were Roman Fellner-Feldegg (24/Landsberg am Lech) and Marek Böckmann (29/Lautersheim, both Prosport Racing), who were 0.160 seconds off Piana’s time in another Mercedes-AMG. Just behind them, 0.317 seconds off top spot, were Lucas Cartelle (18/BEL) and Hudson Schwartz (17/USA, both CRT) in a Toyota GR Supra GT4. The two youngsters are making their ADAC GT4 Germany debut in 2026 and have already caught the eye on several occasions with good performances this season.
Rounding out the top five were Lukas Stiefelhagen (19/NED) and Leon Bauchmüller (19/Kurchlinteln, both ME Motorsport) in a BMW. The ADAC GT4 Germany action resumes on Saturday. Qualifying starts at 09:15 and will be streamed live on Joyn and the ADAC Motorsport channel youtube.com/adacmotorsports. The lights for the race go green at 15:10, and the race action can also be seen on Joyn and YouTube, as well as Sport1.de and ServusTV On.
