Second win of 2026 for Jan Philipp Springob and Philipp Gogollok. Best result of the season for Mercedes-AMG: second place for Fellner-Feldegg and Böckmann. Piana and Sylvestersson complete the podium in a BMW.
Full grandstands, thrilling battles, and drama right down to the very last corner. Saturday’s ADAC GT4 Germany race at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben not only produced top-class entertainment, but also saw cars from three different manufacturers on the podium. Victory went the way of Jan Philipp Springob (25/Olpe) and Philipp Gogollok (20/Bad Homburg, both COSY Racing by ESM). The Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 duo claimed their second win of the 2026 season. They just edged out second-placed Roman Fellner-Feldegg (24/Landsberg am Lech) and Marek Böckmann (29/Lautersheim, both Prosport Racing) in a Mercedes-AMG GT4, who were followed home by Gabriele Piana (39/ITA) and Benjamin Sylvestersson (19/FIN, both FK Performance Motorsport). Third place for the BMW M4 GT4 duo was enough to put them second in the table.
Springob started the race from pole position and was the standout driver in the first half of the race. By the time he came in for the obligatory pit stop, he had extended his lead over the rest of the field to roughly three and a half seconds. Behind him, however, it was all kicking off. Youngster Hudson Schwartz (17/USA, CRT), in a Toyota GR Supra GT4, and the experienced Böckmann and Piana were embroiled in a captivating battle to see who would lead the chasing pack. At the halfway point of the race, different strategies came into play. Schwartz and Piana came in as soon as the pit stop window opened, and handed over to Lucas Cartelle (18/BEL) and Benjamin Sylvestersson. Meanwhile, Fellner-Feldegg waited until the end of the window to take over from his team-mate Böckmann.
That tactic paid dividends for Prosport Racing. Fellner-Feldegg climbed into second place and was able to put pressure on race leader Philipp Gogollok, who had taken over from Springob at the wheel of the Aston Martin. The gap between the two shrank consistently as the race progressed, culminating in a brilliant battle that thrilled the many fans around the circuit. In the end, the order remained unchanged, and Gogollok took the chequered flag with a slender lead of 0.358 seconds. That also gave him victory in the Junior classification.
The final place on the podium was also decided by a thrilling battle between BMW driver Sylvestersson and Cartelle in a Toyota, which ran until the end of the race and resulted in the M4 GT4 driver coming out on top. Marius Schmid (18/Tengen) and Alex Connor (22/GBR) were fifth in a Mercedes-AMG at the home event for BWT Mücke Motorsport. Schmied consequently won the Rookie competition. Sixth place went to Linus Hahne (22/Oelde) and Philip Wiskirchen (21/Euskirchen, both ME Motorsport, BMW) ahead of Denny Berndt (21/Berlin) and Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS, both AVIA W&S Motorsport), who successfully defended their position at the top of the table in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4.
Luis Moser (17/AUT) and Luca Link (22/Günzburg, both FK Performance Motorsport) came home eighth, ahead of Lukas Stiefelhagen (19/NED) and Leon Bauchmüller (19/Kurchlinteln, both ME Motorsport, all BMW). Alon Gabbay (22/ISR) and Maximilian Schreyer (17/Marburg, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) completed the top ten in a Porsche. Victory in the PRO-AM class went to Daniel Drexel (25/AUT) and Michael Maniszewski (56/Bienenbüttel, both Razoon - more than Racing) in a BMW.
Jan Philipp Springob – winner for COSY Racing by ESM “I am delighted with our second win of the season. However, we were shaking a little in the end. I obviously had every faith in Philipp, but it would have been far more relaxed if we had a nice five-second lead. It would appear that our car is very good here. Having said that, I believe it would have been trickier if the Toyota had not held the others up a little. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow.”
Philipp Gogollok – winner for COSY Racing by ESM “The second half of my stint was particularly tiring. I really had to push myself to hang onto the position. However, when it goes your way, it goes your way – so I am super happy that we will be leaving here with a race win to our name. The whole team has done a super job all weekend. Hopefully, we can carry on where we left off tomorrow.”
Roman Fellner-Feldegg – runner-up for Prosport Racing “I actually did not look in my rear-view mirror once, but was looking ahead the whole time. The Aston Martin was very fast from the word go – and our car was really strong at the end of the race. I tried absolutely everything, but he did a top job. We will go again tomorrow. I think we can maintain the pace. The car the team has provided us with is nothing short of impressive.”
Marek Böckmann – runner-up for Prosport Racing “The plan from the outset was to stop really late. This was because we knew that we would be faster than the Toyota, which had held us up a bit in the first half of the race. When it came in and I had a clear track, I was able to really put my foot down for four laps, and we ultimately got our nose in front. Roman then displayed magnificent pace and put in a mega stint. It is our first podium with Mercedes-AMG in ADAC GT4 Germany, which is a very special achievement for the team.”
Gabriele Piana – third place for FK Performance Motorsport “We knew that we could be strong over the full distance. However, it has always been difficult to overtake in Oschersleben. In my stint, I focussed on looking after the tyres as well as possible for Benjamin. He then produced an excellent display and pulled off some super overtaking manoeuvres. I am pleased with third place, but everyone in the team deserved more on this occasion.”
Benjamin Sylvestersson – third place for FK Performance Motorsport “On the whole, it was a good race. I was fast and the car was very good. I really gave it my all and did my best on the last three laps. The car was very strong today, so I was able to set a good pace. There are obviously always a few things that we could improve, but on the whole I am very happy. The team has done an awesome job, and we were able to make good use of the car’s potential.”
