ADAC GT4 Germany is all set for the third race weekend of the 2026 season. The venue from 24th to 26th July is Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in the Magdeburg Börde region. The first couple of events in 2026 have produced plenty of excitement and drama – and more of the same is predicted for the outing at the most northerly racetrack in Germany, where ADAC GT4 Germany will reach the halfway point of the season. As usual, the series starts on the support programme for the DTM, guaranteeing packed grandstands. Tickets for Oschersleben start at € 49 and are available at dtm.com. Sport1 is broadcasting the Sunday race live on free-to-air TV from 15:00 to 16:30. The two races start at 15:10 on Saturday and Sunday, and will be streamed live on Sport1.de and ServusTV On. The qualifying sessions, at 09:15 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday, will also be shown live on Joyn and the ADAC Motorsport channel youtube.com/adacmotorsports.
Denny Berndt (21/Berlin) and Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) travel to Oschersleben as championship leaders. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 duo has finished on the podium in every race so far this season, and are understandably among the hot favourites. “It goes without saying that our goal is to still be at the top of the standings after Oschersleben. However, who is sitting pretty at the top of the table come the end of the season is more important than who is leading at the halfway point. Oschersleben has many long corners. As such, it is important to enter fast and carry a lot of speed through the corners. We will definitely have some work to do, to find a perfect set-up,” says Berndt, for whom Oschersleben is a home event. “Compared to other race weekends, there will be a few more people there with me. I am already looking forward to sitting down with them in the evening and philosophising about the races.”
Their AVIA W&S Motorsport team-mates Alon Gabbay (22/ISR) and Maximilian Schreyer (17/Marburg) lie second, just nine points back. They have stepped onto the podium after three of this season’s four races so far. A further seven points back are Gabriele Piana (39/ITA) and Benjamin Sylvestersson (19/FIN, both FK Performance Motorsport), who won the opening race at the Red Bull Ring in their BMW M4 GT4. Another pair still with a decent chance of leading the title race at the halfway point is Jan Philipp Springob (25/Olpe) and Philipp Gogollok (20/Bad Homburg, both COSY Racing by ESM) in an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.
BWT Mücke Motorsport has the shortest journey to Oschersleben. The iconic team from Berlin is contesting its home event, and can call on a very promising pair of drivers. Marius Schmid (18/Tengen) and Alex Connor (22/GBR) share the pink Mercedes-AMG GT4. Schmid is making his ADAC GT4 Germany debut in 2026. And with great success: after two class wins and a further two runner-up finishes, the young hope leads the Rookie classification in ADAC GT4 Germany.
“I just really enjoy lining up at the ADAC GT4 Germany weekends with BWT Mücke Motorsport and this car. Oschersleben should really suit our Mercedes-AMG, as there are a lot of corners and not so many straights. As such, I am hoping for good results. Perhaps we might even make it into the top five. Whatever happens, the goal is always to win the Rookie competition,” says Schmid, looking ahead. “I actually had my first GT4 test with the team in Oschersleben last October. Even back then, I already really liked the circuit.”
