Porsche and Aston Martin start from pole position

Lachlan Robinson and Philipp Gogollok came out on top in the two ADAC GT4 Germany qualifying sessions at the Red Bull Ring. As well as Porsche and Aston Martin, BMW also enjoyed top results.

Thrilling action in both qualifying sessions at the opening round of the ADAC GT4 Germany season at the Red Bull Ring – and with Porsche and Aston Martin, the two pole positions went to cars from two different manufacturers. Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS), at the wheel of a 718 Cayman GT4 for AVIA W&S Motorsport, won qualifying for the Saturday race. Philipp Gogollok (20/Bad Homburg) will start the Sunday race from the front of the grid in a Vantage GT4 AMR Evo run by COSY Racing by ESM.

“I am really very happy with qualifying. We had been strong all race weekend, and in the pre-season test. However, we still had to produce that level of performance in qualifying. We managed to do precisely that,” said Robinson, pleased with his time of 1:35.207 minutes. “The car feels like it is on rails. We are now looking forward to the race. Victory is our goal.”

Behind Robinson, who lines up together with Denny Berndt (21/Berlin), second place in qualifying for the Saturday race went to the Aston Martin of Jan Philipp Springob (25/Olpe) and Philipp Gogollok. Springob had led for much of the session, but ultimately missed out on top spot by a mere 0.138 seconds.

In third place were Alon Gabbay (22/ISR) and Maximilian Schreyer (17/Marburg), who ended the session 0.479 seconds behind Robinson in another AVIA W&S Motorsport Porsche. Rounding out the top four were Nicolas Guillaume (19/BEL) and Frederic Zebis (17/DEN, both also AVIA W&S Motorsport).

Sunday’s race will see the Aston Martin of Philipp Gogollok start from the very front of the grid. “The 2026 season is picking up exactly where 2025 left off for me – with a pole position,” said Gogollok, celebrating his time of 1:35.075 minutes. “I am obviously very happy with that for now. However, we cannot rest on our laurels after that result, but must remain focussed in the race. Hopefully, we will take a trophy home with us.”

0.220 seconds back was the Porsche of Gabbay and Schreyer, who took second place ahead of their AVIA W&S Motorsport team-mates Robinson and Berndt. Fourth place in qualifying for the Sunday race went to Gabriele Piana (39/ITA) and Benjamin Sylvestersson (18/FIN, both FK Performance Motorsport) in a BMW M4 GT4 Evo.
