Ginetta sets first top time at the Nürburgring

Speedy Swede Erik Bertilsson set the leading time in Free Practice 1 in ADAC GT4 Germany at the Nürburgring. Friday delivers first showdown at the top of the table.

The second half of the 2026 ADAC GT4 Germany season is officially up and running. The Nürburgring hosts the fourth of this year’s six race weekends, and the first free practice took place on Friday morning – with Ginetta leading the way. Erik Bertilsson (25/SWE, KRT Racing), who shares the G56 GT4 with Alexzander Kristiansson (26/SWE), took exactly 1:33.956 minutes to complete his flying lap of the 3.629-kilometre circuit. It was a perfect start to the weekend for Sweden’s Bertilsson, who is making his debut at the iconic circuit in the Eifel region.

“I am naturally very happy with the result. I think we found a good set-up and should also be strong in qualifying and the race. We struggled a bit in the first few races this year, so our expectations should not be too high. However, the goal is to finish in the top five,” said Bertilsson. “The layout of the Nürburgring basically suits our Ginetta, so we are optimistic.”

Second place, 0.381 seconds slower than Bertilsson, went to Oskar Dix (20/GBR) and Egor Litvinenko (21, both Wimmer Werk Motorsport). That represents the best result so far for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 duo in ADAC GT4 Germany. Third fastest were championship leaders Gabriele Piana (39/ITA) and Benjamin Sylvestersson (19/FIN, both FK Performance Motorsport), who were 0.440 seconds off the top time in their BMW M4 GT4.

Denny Berndt (21/Berlin) and Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS, both AVIA W&S Motorsport), who currently lie second in the table, were fourth in the session, 0.618 seconds off the pace. As such, the stage is set for a dramatic and thrilling race weekend. Completing the top five were Linus Hahne (22/Oelde) and Philip Wiskirchen (22/Euskirchen, both ME Motorsport) in a BMW. Next up in ADAC GT4 Germany at the Nürburgring is the second free practice session at 13:55 on Friday. FP2 will be broadcast live on the ADAC Motorsport channel youtube.com/adacmotorsports.
