Third win of the season for Jan Philipp Springob and Philipp Gogollok in ADAC GT4 Germany. Two BMW in the top three. First Rookie success for Ginetta driver Erik Bertilsson.
Strike three for Jan Philipp Springob (25/Olpe) and Philipp Gogollok (20/Bad Homburg, both COSY Racing by ESM) in the 2026 title race in ADAC GT4 Germany. The Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 duo claimed their third win of the season in Saturday's race at the Nürburgring - a win that also propelled them to the top of the table in the ADAC series. Linus Hahne (22/Oelde) and Philip Wiskirchen (22/Euskirchen, both ME Motorsport) were runners-up in an action-packed race. Fellow BMW M4 GT4 racers Luis Moser (18/AUT) and Luca Link (22/Günzburg, both FK Performance Motorsport) completed the podium in front of packed grandstands.
The Nürburgring is of special significance to Springob. The circuit in the Eifel region is not only his home circuit, but he also won the Saturday race in ADAC GT4 Germany here in 2023. Springob laid the foundations for his 2026 triumph with pole position in the morning's qualifying session. When the race began, he made short work of the opposition and consistently pulled clear of the rest of the field throughout the first half of the race. Behind him, Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS, AVIA W&S Motorsport) in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 and Gabriele Piana (39/ITA, FK Performance Motorsport) in a BMW were embroiled in a captivating battle for second place, with the experienced Italian initially coming out on top. Meanwhile, fellow BMW driver Linus Hahne had worked his way up to fourth.
The mandatory driver changeover came at the halfway point of the race, and the order initially remained the same. Springob's partner Gogollok held a comfortable lead through to the end of the race, wrapping up win number three of the season, which also gave the driver from Hesse victory in the Junior competition. Benjamin Sylvestersson(19/FIN) and Denny Berndt (21/Berlin), who had replaced Piana and Robinson at the wheel of their cars, followed on where their team-mates had left off, and battled hard for position. However, shortly before the end of the race, Sylvestersson suffered damage to the front-left suspension of his BMW, which forced the Finn to park up at the side of the track. Berndt crossed the finish line second, but was subsequently handed a 15-second penalty that saw him drop to sixth place in the final classification. The big beneficiary was Philip Wiskirchen, who had taken over from Hahne in the ME Motorsport BMW and inherited second place. Luis Moser and Luca Link were promoted to third.
Behind them, Alexzander Kristiansson (26/SWE) and Erik Bertilsson (25/SWE, both KRT Racing) not only achieved their best result of the season, finishing fourth in the Ginetta G56 GT4, but also clinched victory for Bertilsson in the Rookie classification. Fifth place went to Lucas Cartelle (18/BEL) and Hudson Schwartz (17/USA, both CRT) in a Toyota GR Supra GT4. In seventh place were Marius Schmid (18/Tengen) and Alex Connor (22/GBR, both BWT Mücke Motorsport) in a Mercedes-AMG GT4, ahead of Alon Gabbay (22/ISR) and Maximilian Schreyer (17/Marburg, both AVIA W&S Motorsport, Porsche). Lukas Stiefelhagen (19/NED) and Leon Bauchmüller (19/Kurchlinteln, both ME Motorsport, BMW) came home ninth. Roman Fellner-Feldegg (24/Landsberg am Lech) and Marek Böckmann (29/Lautersheim, Mercedes-AMG) completed the top ten at the home event for Prosport Racing. Victory in the PRO-AM class went to Hendrik Still (39/Kempenich) and Tim Horrell (36/USA, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) in a Porsche.
Jan Philipp Springob – winner for COSY Racing by ESM: "It definitely looked easier than it actually was. I really had to put my foot down in the first half of the race, in order to at least maintain the gap to the opposition. As such, it was all-out attack from lap one to the driver changeover."
Philipp Gogollok – winner for COSY Racing by ESM: "In my stint too, the goal was to increase the gap. It was exciting again at the end, but we brought the race home. We are super happy with the win and hoping for more of the same tomorrow. Long may this continue."
Linus Hahne – runner-up for ME Motorsport: "I am really happy. In the end, the podium was obviously a little fortunate for us, but that's the way it goes sometimes. We are happy to take that result. I also think we have earned it, as we have worked hard all season. Now we have been rewarded for that effort."
Philip Wiskirchen – runner-up for ME Motorsport: "I am really pleased with the result, although it did come as something of a surprise. I had to look after the tyres a lot in my stint. Tomorrow, we want to get another podium."
