Fastest time of the day for Mercedes-AMG at the Norisring

Marek Böckmann from Prosport Racing clocked the Friday’s best time in free practice for ADAC GT4 Germany at the Norisring. In Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, BMW and Toyota, cars from four different manufacturers landed in the top five.

Free Practice 2 for ADAC GT4 Germany at the Norisring was a really close affair. At the end of a captivating session, it was Marek Böckmann (29/Lautersheim) in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 from Prosport Racing who came out on top with a time of 53.731 seconds. “I had a really good feeling on the way here. However, I certainly did not expect things to work out so well immediately. I am more than happy with that, and will sleep really well today,” said a delighted Böckmann, who shares the car with Roman Fellner-Feldegg (24/Landsberg am Lech). “After our performance today, my goal is to finish on the podium this weekend.” Böckmann’s lap was also the fastest of the day in ADAC GT4 Germany at the Norisring.

However, the opposition were not far behind on the 2.162-kilometre street circuit in Nuremberg. Alon Gabbay (22/ISR) and Maximilian Schreyer (17/Marburg, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) were just 0.020 seconds slower in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. Luis Moser (17/AUT) and Luca Link (22/Günzburg) were third fastest in a BMW M4 GT4, 0.057 seconds off Böckmann’s time.

Their FK Performance Motorsport team-mates Gianni van de Craats (20/NED) and Victor Nielsen (19/DEN, both FK Performance Motorsport) were just 0.001 seconds further back. Lucas Cartelle (18/BEL) und Hudson Schwartz (17/USA, both CRT) in a Toyota GR Supra GT4 completed the top five, 0.075 seconds off the pace.

Cars from four different manufacturers within just 0.075 seconds of each other is not only a clear indication of how evenly matched the field is, but also promises plenty of excitement in ADAC GT4 Germany over the course of the rest of the weekend at the Norisring. The series returns to action at 08:40 on Saturday, when the drivers will contest the two qualifying sessions, which will both be streamed live on Joyn and youtube.com/adacmotorsports. The Saturday race then gets underway at 15:10 and will also be shown on SPORT1.de and ServusTV On.
