Still and Gogollok lead home Porsche one-two

Sports cars from manufacturers Porsche and Aston Martin left their mark on Saturday’s ADAC GT4 Germany race at the Red Bull Ring. An exciting and intense race eventually saw Hendrik Still (38/Kempenich) and Philipp Gogollok (19/Bad Homburg, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) take victory. This was the second win of the 2025 season for the duo in a 718 Cayman GT4. Their team-mates Alon Gabbay (21/ISR) and Thomas Gore (20/JAM) pulled off an overtaking manoeuvre on the final lap of the race to finish second, ahead of guest starters Jan Philipp Springob (24/Olpe) and Storm Gjerdrum (16/NOR, both COSY Racing by ESM) in their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.

Aston Martin driver Springob started the race from pole position and got away best to hold onto his lead. Jamaican Gore did briefly wrest that lead off the pole-sitter with a remarkable manoeuvre, but Springob was able to counter and retake the lead. By the halfway point, he had extended his advantage over the rest of the field to more than five seconds. Roughly ten minutes into the race, Hendrik Still also overtook Porsche driver Gore.

The order at the head of the field initially remained the same after the round of mandatory pit stops, when Gjerdrum, Gogollok and Gabbay replaced their respective team-mates behind the wheel. However, Gogollok was not happy with second place and increasingly put youngster Gjerdrum under pressure as the race progressed. Twelve minutes before the end of the race, he eventually found a way past the Norwegian and went on to take the win, which also meant victory in the Junior competition for him Gogollok. With Gabbay mounting a late charge, spectators were treated to a great battle for second place between him and Gjerdrum in the closing stages, which the Israeli ultimately won. Gjerdrum could console himself with victory in the Rookie classification.

In fourth place were local driver Raphael Rennhofer (18/AUT) and Emil Heyerdahl (23/NOR, both Wimmer Werk Motorsport) in another Porsche, ahead of fellow Porsche racers Oskar Lind Kristensen (19/DNK) and Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS, both AVIA W&S Motorsport). Two-time champion Hugo Sasse (21/Aschersleben) and rookie Roman Fellner-Feldegg (23/Landsberg am Lech, both Prosport Racing) ended the race in sixth place in their Aston Martin. Gabriele Piana (39/ITA) and Berkay Besler (25/TUR, both FK Performance Motorsport), who are second in the table, came home seventh in a BMW M4 GT4. Eighth place was sufficient for Enrico Förderer (18/Leuterod) and Jay Mo Härtling (22/Sprockhövel, both SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm) to retain their position at the top of the table. The Porsche of Denny Berndt (20/Berlin) and Max Rosam (20/Taunusstein, both Razoon - more than Racing), and Luciano Schneider (18/Wannweil) and Maximilian Schreyer (16/Marburg, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) completed the top ten. Victory in the Pro-AM class went to Laurenz Rühl (19/Friedrichsdorf) and Damon Surzyshyn (48/CAN, both Razoon - xAutomotive Racing) in a BMW.

Hendrik Still – winner for AVIA W&S Motorsport: “What a great day. I had finished second and third at the Red Bull Ring in the past – and now finally a win, together with Philipp and AVIA W&S Motorsport, who gave us a super car. The win at the Nürburgring and second place at the Sachsenring shows what good form we are in at the moment. My father said this morning that we needed to win if we wanted to have a say in the title race. We did precisely that.”

Philipp Gogollok – winner for AVIA W&S Motorsport: “Does it get any better than a win at the Red Bull Ring. After my victory last year, this is now the second time this has happened to me. Hendrik did a super job. It was just an excellent race. Thank you to the team.”

Alon Gabbay – runner-up for AVIA W&S Motorsport: “I am very happy. We were on the podium again – and that is exactly where we want to be. The battle at the end was really tough. However, I was able to come out on top against the Aston Martin. We will start from the front row again on Sunday, and are already looking forward to it.”

Thomas Gore – runner-up for AVIA W&S Motorsport: “After two third places, this is now my best result ever in ADAC GT4 Germany. Now we obviously want to add a win. We will do everything we can to achieve that goal. The ADAC is doing a great job with this racing series, which I am able to compete in thanks to the support of my sponsors. We did not have a good start to the season, but are now challenging at the front. I am lost for words.”

Jan Philipp Springob – third place for COSY Racing by ESM: “I am thrilled with the beautiful trophy, which I really wanted to take home with me – so, we achieved that goal. I had a good start and a close battle with Thomas Gore on the opening lap. After that, I opened a good lead. The Porsche were simply better over the distance.”

Storm Gjerdrum – third place for COSY Racing by ESM: “The podium is obviously great. Sure, we would have liked to have been a bit higher on the podium, but I was suffering extreme understeer towards the end of the race. Tomorrow we will give it our all as always, and we want to step onto the podium again.“
