At the wheel of a race car, Max Rosam and Luca Link are rivals. Away from the track, they share a flat in Hockenheim, and have a lot of fun doing so. It goes without saying that motorsport is always the dominant topic in the ADAC GT4 Germany flat share.
When the Hockenheimring hosts the finale of the 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany season from 3rd to 5th October, Max Rosam (20, Razoon – more than Racing) and Luca Link (21, Razoon – xAutomotive Racing) will have the shortest journey of all the drivers. They both live in Hockenheim, where they share a flat. “It is about a 20-minute walk to the racetrack, and obviously quicker on a bike. It takes less than five minutes in a car,” says Rosam. “Therefore, we will obviously sleep at home during the upcoming race weekend. That is a huge advantage.”
The background to the ADAC GT4 Germany flat share in Hockenheim is easily explained. Both drivers work as instructors at the Porsche Experience Center Hockenheimring. “I started a little before Max and initially lived in a hotel. Then he joined the team and we immediately decided to move in together. We already knew each other very well through motorsport. As such, it was clear that it would work,” Link recalls. “Plus, we can share the rent.”
The flat in question has an area of about 100 m² and a balcony. Each driver has his own room. The kitchen, dining/living area, bathroom and guest toilet are shared. And there is one more vitally important thing for racing drivers: an additional room, which not only houses a collection of race car parts and broken wheels, but also a rather upmarket simulator. “That allows us to prepare together for race weekends, compare each other in the cars, and go through the track layout and racing lines.”
ADAC GT4 Germany is an ongoing theme – not only in the simulator room, but also in the living area. “We always watch the races together afterwards, and chat to each other about them,” Rosam reveals. “I always find it really interesting to see everything from a different perspective. When you are sat in the race car, you don’t really get the full picture of what is happening in the race.”
Tidiness is obviously of great importance in the ADAC GT4 Germany flat share – some of the time, at least. “Let’s put it this way: Max may sometimes have to tidy up after me. He is definitely the more orderly of us both,” says Link with a grin. One thing the two racing drivers are not focussing on at the moment is cooking. “As we eat very well at work, we actually no longer have any warm meals at home – we tend to go for muesli or toast,” says Rosam. “However, now that we are discussing it, maybe we could start a joint cooking session sometime soon.”
With two men sharing a flat, they are always likely to receive the odd visit from ladies. “My girlfriend comes round now and then. That is great, as she usually does some tidying,” Link chuckles. “Plus, we always play Mario Kart as a three-player. My girlfriend is actually the champion. It’s unbelievable but true – I am yet to win a round of Mario Kart against her.”
The ADAC GT4 Germany flat share in Hockenheim looks set to continue in the medium term. “We don’t have any other plans at the moment. As such, we will probably live together for a bit longer. It works well for us,” says Rosam. “We have a nice flat, in which we feel right at home – we obviously want to stay here.”
