Lachlan Robinson set the fastest time in Free Practice 1 in ADAC GT4 Germany at the Sachsenring. The field is evenly matched, with cars from three manufacturers in the top three.
The fourth race weekend of the 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany season is up and running: the first free practice at the Sachsenring took place on Friday morning – and it was a Porsche that ended the session on top of the timing sheet. Lachlan Robinson (21/AUS), who shares a 718 Cayman GT4 with Oskar Lind Kristensen (19/DNK, both AVIA W&S Motorsport), took 1:26.328 minutes to complete the 3.645-kilometre track. “It is obviously great to start the weekend this way. The Sachsenring is a special place for me, as it was here that I made my GT4 debut in 2023,” said Robinson. “The car felt really good in practice. The track will develop over the coming days, so we will definitely still have to fine-tune the set-up a bit.” This was also the first time that Robinson had set the fastest time in ADAC GT4 Germany.
In second place, 0.230 seconds slower than Robinson, was the BMW M4 GT4 of Linus Hahne (21/Oelde) and ADAC Stiftung Sport driver Thomas Rackl (17/Berching, both ME Motorsport). Third place went to the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 of local favourites COSY Racing by ESM, with drivers Jan Philipp Springob (24/Olpe) and Storm Gjerdrum (16/NOR), who ended the session 0.371 seconds off the top spot.
Hendrik Still (38/Kempenich) and Philipp Gogollok (19/Bad Homburg, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) were fourth in another Porsche, 0.464 seconds off the fastest time. Rounding out the top five were Hugo Sasse (21/Aschersleben) and Roman Fellner-Feldegg (23/Landsberg am Lech, both Prosport Racing) in an Aston Martin.
Next up on Friday for the ADAC GT4 Germany drivers is the second free practice at the Sachsenring, before Saturday features the two qualifying sessions and the opening race. “We made it onto the podium at the Norisring. Perhaps we can do that again – preferably the top step, of course,” says Robinson, looking ahead to the rest of the weekend.
