Lachlan Robinson proved unbeatable in the second free practice in ADAC GT4 Germany at the Hockenheimring. Three Porsche and two Aston Martins made up the top five.
The opening day of practice in ADAC GT4 Germany at the season finale at the Hockenheimring drew to a close with Porsche looking strong. Having topped Free Practice 1, it was another 718 Cayman GT4 that ended the second session at the top of the timings sheet on Friday evening. Lachlan Robinson (22/AUS) took exactly 1:46.300 minutes to complete his fastest lap of the 4.754 circuit, which also proved to be the best time of the day.
“My fastest lap came right at the start of the session. I had no traffic and could really put my foot down,” said Robinson, who lines up alongside Oskar Lind Kristensen (19/DNK, both AVIA W&S Motorsport). “After the first free practice, we still had a few areas to improve. I think we did that emphatically.”
Second place in the session, 0.304 seconds slower than Robinson, went to his AVIA W&S Motorsport team-mates Hendrik Still (38/Kempenich) and Philipp Gogollok (19/Bad Homburg). Third fastest were Marek Böckmann (29/Lautersheim) and Anton Paul Abée (28/Hamburg, both Prosport Racing), who missed out on top spot by 0.345 seconds. Their team-mates Hugo Sasse (21/Aschersleben) and Roman Fellner-Feldegg (23/Landsberg am Lech) were fourth, 0.358 seconds off the pace. Alon Gabbay (21/ISR) and Thomas Gore (20/JAM, both also AVIA W&S Motorsport) completed the top five.
The action comes thick and fast in ADAC GT4 Germany on Saturday. First up, from 11:55, are the two qualifying sessions. Race one then starts at 17:20 and will be streamed live at adac.de/motorsport, ServusTV On, Joyn, sport1.de and youtube.com/adacmotorsports. “Tomorrow is when it really counts. I hope we can maintain our speed. We are very optimistic, as my team-mate Oskar and I are looking really good,” said Robinson. “After winning at the Red Bull Ring, we want to make it onto the top step of the podium again here.”
