ADAC GT4 Germany·4.7.2025

Pole position for Jay Mo Härtling in a Mercedes-AMG

The championship leader from SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm was unbeatable in qualifying for Sunday’s ADAC GT4 Germany race at the Norisring. Exciting session with three manufacturers in the top four.

It was a perfect end to the day for Jay Mo Härtling (22/Sprockhövel): the driver from SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm, at the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT4, won qualifying for Sunday’s ADAC GT4 Germany at the Norisring, securing pole position in the process. “I am obviously very happy with the result,” said Härtling, delighted with his time of 53.131 seconds. “However, it was essentially a mega team effort, as the car was perfect.”

“We were actually initially planning on just three flying laps for the session. However, the team then informed me that I was just 0.1 seconds off the top time. With that in mind, I set off on another fast lap, focussed one hundred percent and was right at the limit. That ended up being the pole lap,” said Härtling, who will share the driving duties with his regular partner Enrico Förderer (18/Leuterod) in the race.

Second-placed Victor Nielsen (18), who shares a BMW M4 GT4 with Maximilian Tarillion (20/Vienna, both Razoon – xAutomotive Racing), just missed out on pole. The Dane came up just 0.044 seconds short of Härtling’s time. Third place also went to a BMW: right at the end of the session, Gabriele Piana (38/ITA), who lines up alongside Berkay Besler (25/TUR, both FK Performance Motorsport), set a time of 53.281 seconds – just 0.150 seconds off the pole time.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 of Oskar Lind Kristensen (19/DNK) and Lachlan Robinson (21/AUS, both AVIA W&S Motorsport) has also looked good so far at the Norisring, ending the session 0.161 seconds back in fourth place. Rounding out the top five were their team-mates at AVIA W&S Motorsport, Hendrik Still (37/Kempenich) and Philipp Gogollok (19/Bad Homburg).

Härtling is looking forward to the Sunday race, which he will start from the front of the grid: “The first task is to survive the start. If I can do that, it is all about sticking to the plan and, ideally, getting the win. That is the goal.”
