ME Motorsport: A focus on the Youth

Markus Eichele’s team is contesting the ADAC GT4 Germany with two BMW M4 GT4 in 2025. The team was founded in 2023 and has been part of the ADAC series ever since.

ME Motorsport is well-positioned for the 2025 season of the ADAC GT4 Germany. The team from Schwäbisch Gmünd is racing with two BMW M4 GT4 driven by the duos of Philip Wiskirchen (20/Euskirchen) and Tim Reiter (26/Ostfildern), and Linus Hahne (21/Oelde) and the ADAC’s sports foundation’s sponsored driver Thomas Rackl (17/Berching). “As you can tell from our driver line-up, supporting young racing drivers is incredibly important to us. This is the foundation on which we built the team,” explained team principal Markus Eichele.

Eichele is a racing driver himself and has previously enjoyed success in series such as the DTC and the Citroen Saxo Cup. Then he took a break from motorsport for about 20 years. But he has been bitten by the racing bug again. “I was gifted a racing car driving experience for my 40th birthday. It was so much fun that I competed in a few races afterwards. Then, in 2023, I decided to set up my own team, ME Motorsport.” The new racing team made its first appearance at the ADAC GT4 Germany season finale at the Hockenheimring. For the 2024 season, ME Motorsport expanded their commitment to two BMW. The team has contested every race in the ADAC championship since that point. “We love the setting of the DTM platform. The weekends draw great crowds – and the quality is first-class. It all feels like the good old days of racing,” said Eichele describing how they opted for the ADAC GT4 Germany.

During race weekends, ME Motorsport has around ten people at the track. On top of this are the four drivers, whereby Eichele is focussing on the role of team principal in the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2025. “It’s important to me that our young drivers get lots of driving time. Besides, this allows me to take even better care of our sponsors in the paddock,” Eichele added. “After all, being well-positioned and being able to provide our drivers with the perfect package is fundamental.”

The 2025 season opener at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben went pretty well for the two BMW. Rackl/Hahne finished in seventh place two times; Wiskirchen/Reiter on the other hand experienced some racing misfortune. “We were the best BMW in both qualifying sessions – and in the Sunday race. We’re really happy with this,” said Eichele reviewing the event in the Magdeburg Börde. “Over the course of the season we want to keep showing that we are a force to be reckoned with and that we can be up there at the front. The goal is to finish the season with a car in the top five of the overall standings. We would also like to finish on the podium two or three times. If we manage to get a win, that would be even better.”

As well as the two BMW, there were two VW up! GTI in the team tents at the opener in Oschersleben. This is because ME Motorsport has expanded its operations slightly for the 2025 season and is competing in the ADAC Touring Cars Junior Cup in addition to GT4 racing. “Our aim here is to provide a bridge from karting to GT4 cars for young drivers. As already intimated, it is important to us to support the up-and-coming racing youth,” stated Eichele. But that’s not all: “We aren’t excluding the possibility of making the leap into GT3 and thereby the ADAC GT Masters at some point – but only if we are sure that it makes sense. I’m also not against the idea of remaining in GT4 racing. One thing is certain: No matter what we do, it must have a solid basis. Otherwise, we will be giving it a wide berth.”
