Enrico Förderer and Jay Mo Härtling discuss the 2025 season and their title. The duo won four races and clinched the title in the final race.
A big success for Enrico Förderer (18/Leuterod) and Jay Mo Härtling (23/Sprockhövel). Sharing the driving duties in a Mercedes-AMG GT4, the SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm drivers were crowned champions in the 2025 Drivers’ Championship in ADAC GT4 Germany. This marked the first time in the history of the series that the title holders were at the wheel of a car bearing the infamous star logo. The successful pairing started the year with four victories and occupied the top spot in the table for the entire season. In an interview, Förderer and Härtling look back at the season and reveal what they have planned for the winter break.
The pairing of Förderer and Härtling immediately made its mark at the opening round of this season’s ADAC GT4 Germany, and went on to secure the title in Hockenheim. A few weeks have passed since the finale. How good does that success still feel?
Förderer: “Everything feels just as awesome as it did on the first day. It is an unbelievable feeling. The whole team is still incredibly proud of what it has achieved.”
Härtling: “There are still moments, in which you simply cannot believe that we achieved this success. We are all very proud and grateful for the performance of the entire team.”
Did you receive any special or unusual congratulations, which you were not really expecting?
Förderer: “On the whole, I heard from everyone that I would have hoped to hear from. Plus, I also received messages from a few people that I don’t otherwise have anything to do with all year – such as old school friends.”
Härtling: “The people who cheered me on all season, and who have a connection to motorsport, obviously congratulated me. I was really delighted with the congratulations from Mercedes-AMG.”
What have you been up to since the season finale?
Förderer: “Since then, I have been working from morning to night. I have a few projects at the moment, as I want to become more independent. Furthermore, I have already started preparing for next season – both physically and in the simulator.”
Härtling: “We have not had any race outings since the finale and preparations for the coming season are already in full swing.”
What was last season’s best or most emotional moment?
Förderer: “Obviously the whole race weekend in Hockenheim – from the tension on the journey to the circuit, to the relief when we crossed the finish line for the final time. That was a big weight off our shoulders.”
Härtling: “The most emotional moment was undoubtedly the final lap of the finale in Hockenheim. It was unbelievable, with just a few laps remaining, to hear the radio message: We have won the championship, you can go all out for the podium and have some fun!”
You must have got to know each other better over the course of the season. How would you best describe your team-mate to a stranger?
Förderer: “Jay Mo is very easy to get on with. You can chat to him about anything, particularly motorsport. He is just a nice guy. In the car, he is very determined. We both have the same dream, for which we are both working in our own way.”
Härtling: “Enrico is a cool guy and we complement each other perfectly. He is also very loyal, and we form a strong team outside the cockpit too.”
What is your favourite circuit on the ADAC GT4 Germany calendar, and why?
Förderer: “The Norisring, as we produced a magnificent performance there this year. That was also my first race at a street circuit.”
Härtling: “I agree with Enrico. Driving there was an awesome experience. The track is very narrow and does not forgive any mistakes. The driver can make a difference at the Norisring.”
What do you have planned for the winter break?
Förderer: “I am going to Sri Lanka on holiday, but will still be working from there. After that, I am coming home for the New Year. In January, I want to go skiing for a few days.”
Härtling: “There is not much time for a real winter break. We will have a team outing together, and I will spend Christmas with my family. After that, from January to March, we have another very intense programme of testing and practice in preparation for the 2026 season.”
