ADAC GT4 Germany produced a brilliant highlight of the season at the Norisring in Nuremberg. Here are a few fascinating stories to come out of the paddock.
Successful home outing: Thomas Rackl (17) from Berching had the shortest commute to the Norisring, and was cheered on by many of his friends – with great success: he and Linus Hahne (21/Oelde, both ME Motorsport) raced through the field from 18th on the grid to finish fourth and make it onto the Junior podium for the very first time. “It was a super weekend and a great experience to stand on the podium as a local driver. It all came together nicely,” beamed the overjoyed ADAC Stiftung Sport driver.
Rapid rookie: A new addition to ADAC GT4 Germany in 2025 is the Rookie competition, which is for drivers under the age of 25 and in their first year in GT4 motorsport. Victory in this class went to Mercedes-AMG driver Cedric Fuchs (19/Holzappel, SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm) in both races. “That was obviously a great success. I am infinitely grateful to the team,” said Fuchs. “I learned an awful lot in the races. Standing on the podium against such a great backdrop felt mega.”
Unexpected debutant: Hugo Sasse (21/Aschersleben, Prosport Racing) is one of the most experienced drivers in the ADAC GT4 Germany field. He won the title in 2022 and 2023, and has spent many years racing throughout Europe. Unbelievable, but true: the Norisring was actually uncharted territory for the Aston Martin driver. “The circuit is really interesting. However, the limited number of corners mean you cannot really make a difference as a driver,” said Sasse. “The whole complex is impressive and the fans are awesome.”
New role: Marc de Fulgencio has two race wins to his name in ADAC GT4 Germany. However, he now finds himself in a totally different role at BWT Mücke Motorsport in the 2025 season. “I work as a driving coach and race engineer. It gives me a new and fascinating perspective, and allows me to develop as a person,” said the Spaniard. “I would obviously love to get back in the cockpit. However, the engineer side of things is definitely something exciting for the future.”
Four wins in a row: Enrico Förderer (18/Leuterod) and Jay Mo Härtling (22/Sprockhövel, both SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm) have four ADAC GT4 Germany races on their CV so far – and the Mercedes-AMG duo has won all four. As a result, they lead the Drivers’ Championship with a maximum 100 points. This has only ever happened once before in the history of ADAC GT4 Germany. Michael Schrey and Gabriele Piana also won the opening four races in 2021. They went on to be crowned champions at the end of the season. Could this be a good omen for Förderer and Härtling?
Large crowds: ADAC GT4 Germany races traditionally take place on the support programme for the DTM. This guarantees big crowds. The Norisring attracted 112,000 fans over the course of the weekend. The drivers in the GT4 field were delighted to see that the grandstands were also packed for the afternoon’s GT4 races.
