More than 200 drivers start in six classes. Title race continues to heat up with two races remaining. DKM drivers have one eye on the Road to DTM trophy.
This season’s German Kart Championship enters the finish straight from 15th to 17th August. Three weeks after the series reached the halfway point in thrilling fashion in Ampfing, the title race now resumes at the iconic Erftlandring in Kerpen. With just two race weekends remaining, every point counts in the battle for the championship. Over 200 drivers will line up in six classes. Both race days can be watched in a livestream at adac.de/motorsport and on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel.
All the classes are finely balanced after Ampfing. Current championship leaders Danilo Albanese (DKM), Marc Alexander Reistrup (DJKM), Jayden Thien (DSKC), Devin Titz (DMKM), Tom Wickop (X30 Junior) and Aaron Garcia Lopez (X30 Senior) travel to Kerpen with the wind in their sails, but must remain fully focussed. Many of the chasing pack are just a few points back, so even a small mistake could be crucial in the title race. The 1,107-metre Erftlandring is not only the venue for round four of the DKM, but also a part of German motorsport history. Among those who started their careers here are German Formula 1 world champions Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. The track still has an old-school feel and is a mixture of fast straights and technically demanding corners.
A particular focus in Kerpen will be on the Road to DTM trophy. Here, three DKM drivers are battling for the lead: Christiaan de Kleijn, Dion van Werven and Markus Kajak. The ADAC will reward the winner with the entry fee for the 2026 season in ADAC GT4 Germany, from where they will have the opportunity to progress as far as the DTM. Kerpen could decide who is best-placed to clinch the trophy.
The field of more than 200 drivers will take to the track for the first time on Friday, and have four free practice sessions, in which to find the right set-up for the Erftlandring. Saturday is all about qualifying and heats, as the grid positions are determined for the Super Heats and finals on Sunday. The top 36 drivers in each class will line up in the finals from 14:00.
