The champion scored the maximum number of points in Fürstlich Drehna. Tom Koch finished as runner-up in the ADAC MX Masters. Jere Haavisto secured third place in the championship.
Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team), who had already been confirmed as champion, dominated the ADAC MX Masters season finale in Fürstlich Drehna at the weekend in front of over ten thousand fans and under excellent racing conditions, claiming three race wins. Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing) and Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) rounded off the weekend and the season on the podium.
Roan van de Moosdijk: in a class of his own
It was a perfect weekend for Roan van de Moosdijk: on Saturday, starting from pole position, he secured his first Red Bull Holeshot of the year, followed by a commanding start-to-finish victory ahead of Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje) and Kevin Brumann (CH/MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing). In the second race, the Red Bull Holeshot went to Talviku, who subsequently crashed. Van de Moosdijk took the lead from Koch as early as the first full lap and once again secured an unchallenged victory. In the third race, Emil Weckman (FIN) was first around the starting bend, but once again van de Moosdijk took the lead on the first lap and controlled the race with ease.
“I felt really comfortable all weekend and was delighted yesterday with my first holeshot and start-to-finish victory of the year. Today I got off to a good start every time, was able to take the lead early on and control the races. Many thanks to my team and all the fans here at the track,” said a satisfied van de Moosdijk.
Haavisto edges out Talviku in the championship
Jere Haavisto and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku were separated by just one point in the battle for third place in the championship heading into the weekend. Haavisto initially fell behind after finishing fifth in Saturday’s race, but with two second-place finishes in Sunday’s two races, he ended the weekend in second place and pushed Talviku – who retired from the third race – back down the standings.
“I’m really pleased. It was a gruelling weekend, but I gave it my all and even received a little helping hand from Talviku in the third race, which secured third place in the championship for me,” said a delighted Haavisto.
Tom Koch celebrates his return to the series as runner-up
Tom Koch got off to a strong start in the first race on Saturday, but dropped back to sixth place following a crash. In both of Sunday’s races, he finished third, which also secured him third place in the event standings ahead of Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Brumann. Behind van de Moosdijk, Koch and Haavisto, Talviku and Ludwig rounded off the top five in the championship.
“My weekend got off to a difficult start with the crash on Saturday, and I could still feel the effects of it today. I tried to make the best of the situation and put in some solid races. I managed to do that, and given the circumstances, I’m happy with my place on the podium. The atmosphere here, with so many enthusiastic fans, was brilliant, and it was great fun to race in front of such a crowd,” said Koch.
All races from both days of the event can be watched free of charge as re-livestreams or as individual races via the ADAC MX Masters playlist on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel.
