The second half of this season’s ADAC MX Masters gets underway this weekend (8th/9th August) with multiple highlights at MSC Gaildorf. The club celebrates its 100th anniversary this year by welcoming the four classes – ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 – to the iconic racetrack. Lining up as the championship leader in the ADAC MX Masters class will be Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/KTM Kosak Racing Team). In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Nicolai Skovbjerg (DK/SixtySeven Racing-Team) is the man to catch. After taking a break for one event, the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 returns to action with Lucas Leok (EST/KTM MX Futures) leading the way. Patriks Cirulis (LAT/Schmicker Silve Racing) travels with the leader’s Red Plate in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. As well as the race action, Gaildorf also offers an entertaining event programme for the whole family from morning till night.
After a summer break lasting roughly two months, the ADAC MX Masters now enters the crucial closing stages of the season. When Roan van de Moosdijk lines up at the weekend, he will be looking to defend and extend the lead his recently acquired at the top of the table. His main rival Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing) may be missing with an injury, but Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing), Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and newly-crowned European champion in the Open class Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing) will be looking to make his life as difficult as possible. All three have already claimed race victories this season, and both Koch and Spies have won the event in Gaildorf in the past. Valentin Guillod (CH/SHR Motorsports by Hartje) has also impressed there, and is using a break in the American championship to make a guest start in Europe. Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje) will roll up to the start gate fully motivated following his promotion to official factory rider, as will Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who is on the up and has his sights set on his first event podium of the season. A host of top international riders, including Tomas Kohut (CZ/Motoprox MRA Racing Team), Kevin Brumann (CH/MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing), and a number of guest starters, will also be in action in Gaildorf. German riders like Peter König (D/KTM GST Berlin Racing), who finished third in last weekend’s EMX Open, DMX Open leader Max Thunecke (D/Johannes-Bikes Suzuki), Cato Nickel (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by DVAG), Paul Haberland (D/MX-Academy Honda Racing), Mark Scheu (D/Johannes-Bikes Suzuki) and Toni Hoffmann (D/BVZ Racing) will also be hoping to catch the eye with some top results.
As well as the pros in the ADAC MX Masters class, talented young riders from more than 25 nations will also line up in Gaildorf in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. The ADAC MX Masters and ADAC MX Youngster Cup classes will each contest three races at the weekend, while the two ADAC MX Junior Cup classes will each go racing twice. The first races with championship points at stake will take place on Saturday, immediately after the Last Chance Race.
As well as the races, there will also be a full event programme for spectators on site, with a big fan mile, free access to the paddock, and a large festival tent with live music on three evenings. The Yamaha Quad Parcours offers young visitors the opportunity to try out small quads and PW50 bikes. From 11:45 to 12:15 on Sunday, Roan van de Moosdijk, Tom Koch, Jere Haavisto, Noah Ludwig and Valentin Guillod will be at the ADAC MX Masters Truck signing autographs for fans. To mark the club’s anniversary, the festival tent opens on Thursday evening with an entertaining musical programme, as the Stadtkapelle Gaildorf invites visitors to a beer tasting. From 20:00 on Friday, VolXX LIGA will be playing in the festival tent. On Saturday, cover band SHARK will get the tent bouncing with the legendary MX Party, before DJ One of us brings the curtain down on the event on Sunday. All the races in Gaildorf will be shown in a free livestream. Between the races, a number of interviews will provide entertainment and the latest information. The livestream will be broadcast at adac.de/mx-masters. The programme begins at 15:00 on Saturday. On Sunday, coverage starts with Part 1 at 09:50, before Part 2 starts at 12:40.
