Nicolai Skovbjerg extends his lead in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup with a win. Patriks Cirulis takes the lead in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. Lucy Barker wins the guest race in the DMX Women’s Championship.
The junior classes – the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 – as well as the DMX Women’s class, which competed as a guest class in Tensfeld, provided thrilling races last weekend. In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Nicolai Skovbjerg (DK/SixtySeven Racing Team) further extended his lead with a dominant performance. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, Patriks Cirulis (LAT/Schmicker Silve Racing) came out on top and replaced his brother at the top of the standings. In the DMX Women’s class, the day’s victory went to Lucy Barker (GB/Kemco Management), but Larissa Papenmeier (D/SYE Racing Team 423) remained in the lead in the championship. Team Schmicker Silve Racing claimed victory in both the ADAC MX Masters Team Championship and the Young Talents Team Championship.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup: Skovbjerg enjoys a perfect weekend
Even a last-minute team change ahead of Tensfeld failed to slow down championship leader Nicolai Skovbjerg. On the contrary: the Dane dominated the weekend at Tensfeld. As Acerbis Best Qualifier, he won all three races and thus significantly extended his championship lead. Skovbjerg’s strongest rivals failed to put in three consistent races. Mads Fredsoe (DK/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM) consistently finished in the top five with fifth, second and third places, securing second place overall for the weekend. Saku Mansikkamäki (FI/Schmicker Silve Racing) crashed in the third race after finishing second and third, but still managed to secure a place on the event podium with a ninth-place finish. Liam Owens (AU/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM) impressed in the third race with a second-place finish, whilst Sebastian Leok (EST/MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing) secured a place on the race podium with third place in the first race. They thus rounded off the top five in Tensfeld. In the championship, Skovbjerg now holds a 67-point lead over Fredsoe. Behind them are Owens, Scott Smulders (NL/SixtySeven Racing-Team) and Jan Krug (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing).
ADAC MX Junior Cup 85: Cirulis twins come out on top
The two race wins in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 went to Patriks and Martins Cirulis (LAT/Schmicker Silve Racing). Patriks treated himself to a race win in the first race on Saturday as a birthday present, holding off pressure from Harry Dale (GB/KTM MX Futures) and Luca Nierychlo (D/KTM MX Futures). On Sunday, Martins Cirulis secured a start-to-finish victory ahead of his brother and Nierychlo. Patriks Cirulis thus won the event standings ahead of Martins Cirulis, Nierychlo and Dale, who were level on points. The better result in the second race determined the order in the standings for these three. In the championship, Patriks Cirulis took the lead from his brother. Behind them are Nierychlo, Dale and Kash van Hamond (NL/Kosak Racing Team).
DMX Women: International Podium
The German Women’s Motocross Championship, which is open to international competitors, also made a stop in Tensfeld. Due to adverse weather conditions, only one race was held on Sunday. Lucy Barker came out on top, though she came under pressure from Shana van der Vlist (NL) towards the end of the race. The leading duo pulled well clear of the rest of the field. Amber Simons (NL) crossed the line in third place, followed by Larissa Papenmeier and Elena Kapsamer (A/Becker Racing). In the championship standings, Papenmeier retained the lead ahead of Simons, Alexandra Massury (D/RCK Racing Team), Tanja Schlosser (D/Werthmann Racing Team by Mefo Sport) and Kapsamer.
Team standings: Schmicker Silve Racing secures a one-two
In the ADAC MX Masters team standings, the best result achieved by a team in each class is taken into account, with results from the ADAC MX Masters class counting double. In the Young Talents team standings, results from the ADAC MX Masters class do not count. In Tensfeld, the Schmicker Silve Racing team won both team classifications. In the ADAC MX Masters team classification in Tensfeld, the Kosak Racing Team took second place ahead of MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing. In the championship, the Kosak Racing Team leads ahead of Schmicker Silve Racing and the KTM Sarholz Racing Team. In the Young Talents team standings at Tensfeld, MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing took second place ahead of the Kosak Racing Team. Here, the MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing team leads the standings, followed by Schmicker Silve Racing and the Kosak Racing Team.
All races from both days of the event can be watched for free as re-livestreams or as individual races via the ADAC MX Masters playlist on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel. The full results from the weekend are available at adac.de/mx-masters.
