Season opener on Easter weekend in Grevenbroich. International field in four classes. New layout promises extra excitement.
The ADAC MX Masters kicks off its 22nd season in Grevenbroich this coming Easter weekend (4th and 5th April). With high-class national and international riders in the four classes – ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 – it promises to be a great start to the season in North Rhine-Westphalia. A new layout for the well-known sand track in the “Königshovener Höhe” area adds extra excitement to the equation. Fans can watch the races live at the racetrack and via a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters.
With many familiar faces back for another season, the stage is set for a thriller in the top class, the ADAC MX Masters. Reigning champion Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/KTM Kosak Racing Team) will again face the experienced Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing), who saw the title slip from his grasp at the final event last year, having led the championship for long periods. In Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing) and Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), two talented young Germans have their sights set on the top. Former MX2 world champion and two-time ADAC MX Masters champion Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by DVAG) is fit coming into the season, and lines up with a similar wealth of experience to Nagl. Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) is determined to make an immediate impression as he returns to the series. Marcel Stauffer (A/Osicka MX Team), another race and event winner in the series, has also recently confirmed that he will be racing in Grevenbroich. Other international starters like Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje), Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing), Jakub Teresak (CZ/Visualz Production) and Harri Kullas (EST/Schmicker Silve Racing) will also be aiming for the podium in a field that boasts plenty of strength in depth. German-speakers Mike Gwerder (CH/HTS Racing Team), Peter König (D/KTM GST Berlin Racing), Paul Haberland (D/MX-Academy Honda Racing by Meuwissen Motorsports), Cato Nickel (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by DVAG), Mark Scheu (D/Johannes-Bikes Suzuki), Toni Hoffmann (D/BVZ Racing), Max Thunecke (D/Johannes-Bikes Suzuki) and Nico Greutmann (CH/MX-Academy Honda Racing by Meuwissen Motorsports), who is stepping up to this class for the first time, will also be hungry to shine with top results.
Joining the ADAC MX Masters class in Grevenbroich will be the junior classes – the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 – with competitors from over 25 countries. The ADAC MX Masters and ADAC MX Youngster Cup classes will each contest three races, while two races will be held in both the ADAC MX Junior Cup classes. The first races with championship points at stake take place on the Saturday, immediately after the Last Chance race.
Fans can purchase their tickets on the gate or in advance online via the MSC Grevenbroich website. With the ADAC MX Academy “on tour”, children aged six and above can gain their first Motocross experience in a three-hour taster course at the track. Anyone interested in the remaining places at the event can register in advance via the ADAC MX Academy website. From 11:45 to 12:15 on the Sunday, Roan van de Moosdijk, Max Nagl, Maximilian Spies, Jörgen-Matthias Talviku and Noah Ludwig will be at the ADAC MX Masters Truck to sign autographs for fans.
All the races in Grevenbroich will be streamed live and free of charge. Between the races, a host of interviews will provide entertainment and up-to-date information. The livestream will be broadcast at adac.de/mx-masters. The programme begins at 15:05 on the Saturday. Part one of Sunday’s coverage gets underway at 09:50, before part two starts at 12:40.
