Bridgestone and the ADAC MX Masters: a successful partnership for many years. With the Kosak Racing Team, Team VisuAlz Production, the MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing squad, and the teams from BvZ Racing, Bauerschmidt Husqvarna and Werthmann Racing, some of the top teams place their trust in the products of the Japanese tyre manufacturer. A number of privateers also line up at the start on these Japanese tyres. For over 90 years, the tyre giant has stood for outstanding quality and a vast product range.
Mission: Defend the Title
Choosing the right tyre is always a key factor in the battle for race victories in motocross. With the wrong tyre, the podium usually becomes a distant prospect. A good tyre, on the other hand, can improve lap times at every level. It goes without saying that a professional motocross rider places the highest demands on the performance of an MX tyre. Traction must be spot on right from the start and last until the end of the race. Numerous ADAC MX Masters riders have proven in the past that this is the case with Bridgestone tyres. Last year, Dutch rider Roan van de Moosdijk secured the ADAC MX Masters title, relying on Bridgestone tyres. This season too, the champion and his Kosak Racing Team are relying on these tried-and-tested tyres and have set their sights on defending their title.
“With the X Series, we’re competitive on almost any surface,” explains Wolfgang Terfloth, Bridgestone’s DACH Motorcycle Sales Manager. The Bridgestone range also has the right tyre for every amateur rider. Top riders such as van de Moosdijk battle for victory in the ADAC MX Masters on standard tyres available to the public. The tyre fitted to the top riders in the premier class is identical in construction to the one that a privateer can buy for their bike. This is unique in high-end motorcycling.
Full range
Bridgestone was founded in 1931 in Kurume, Japan, and began producing motorbike tyres in 1964. To this day, the motorbike tyres are manufactured exclusively in Japan. This is one of the key factors behind the tyres’ high product quality. “We place the utmost importance on quality,” explains Terfloth: “We want our customers to be able to rely on our products!” The customer base is huge, as the product range spans everything from motorbike and car tyres to tyres for aircraft, specialised vehicles and much more. Virtually everything, in almost every tyre size. Many motorbike manufacturers choose Bridgestone as the original equipment supplier for their machines due to the tyres’ high quality and excellent handling characteristics.
Tyres are the best way to tune your bike
For many amateur riders, however, it’s often about more than just achieving top performance for 35 minutes. Bridgestone tyres are an excellent choice for them too. “Admittedly, we don’t offer the cheapest tyres on the market, but thanks to their high mileage, our tyres provide long-lasting, reliable grip when you head out to a hard-surface track for practice on a Sunday morning,” Terfloth explains. “Many amateur riders invest a lot of money and time in preparing their bikes. So it’s a shame if a poor-quality tyre ruins the day’s riding after just a few laps. The extra cost of a good tyre is very low compared to other accessories.” And hardly any tuning part is as affordable whilst delivering such demonstrable performance on the track as a set of new tyres suited to the track conditions! Equally important for the consumer is a good dealer network. Bridgestone can offer that too.
A Heart for Young People
“There’s hardly any other motorsport that reaches very young riders as effectively as motocross. As it’s important to us to support the next generation, we decided several years ago to become a partner of the ADAC MX Masters. With the X10 in 90/100 – 16, we currently have a brand-new tyre on offer for the 85cc class. “The ADAC MX Masters is the flagship motocross series in Germany, with racing classes ranging from juniors right through to established professionals,” says Terfloth, explaining the partnership. “We are particularly pleased that the riders from the Bridgestone-supported teams – skilled riders who give it their all – are competing on our ‘black gold’.”
A Bridgestone race service, provided by SAS Racing, will be available at all ADAC MX Masters events. Fans can also visit the stand there with any questions they may have about Bridgestone products.
