Roan Van de Moosdijk celebrates his first victory in the ADAC MX Masters. Simon Längenfelder finishes second on his 250cc motorcycle. Jörgen-Matthias Talviku on the podium again.
Warm temperatures and a deep sand track made for challenging conditions at the ADAC MX Masters in Tensfeld. The numerous fans saw Roan Van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team) become the fifth winner of the season. He prevailed in the three races against World Championship leader Simon Längenfelder (D/Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team) and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/JMT Esttrans Yamaha Keskus Racing Team). Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing powered by Krettek) defended his championship lead with sixth place.
Van de Moosdijk most consistent
Just one week after a heavy crash, Roan Van de Moosdijk claimed his first victory in the ADAC MX Masters. In Saturday's race, he finished third behind Hakon Fredriksen (NO/Lukes Racing - Hertrampf Gruppe) and Nagl. On Sunday, he won the second race despite completing most of the race without a working rear brake. Fourth place in the third race behind Fredriksen, Längenfelder and Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing) was enough for Van de Moosdijk to secure victory in Tensfeld.
‘It's incredible to achieve my first overall victory just one week after crashing in Bielstein. I wasn't able to train at all during the week. The weekend in Tensfeld was very exhausting and difficult for me. But I fought hard and gave it my all. It paid off and I'm very happy about that,’ said a delighted Van de Moosdijk.
Podium finish for Längenfelder on ADAC MX Masters debut
Simon Längenfelder competed in the ADAC for the first time since winning the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 championship and finished second on his debut in the premier class. The ADAC Sports Foundation rider was at a disadvantage at the start on his 250 cc bike, which had less engine capacity than his rivals. On Saturday, he worked his way up to fifth place behind Spies during the race. He finished second in both races on Sunday, which also secured him second place overall in Tensfeld.
"That was an awesome weekend! We made great progress with the set-up of my KTM for the upcoming World Championship races in the sand. The track in Tensfeld is very special with lots of jumps, which makes it very demanding. To finish on the podium in my first outing in the ADAC MX Masters class is fantastic," beamed Längenfelder.
Talviku puts in another strong performance in the sand
Jörgen-Matthias Talviku improved on his sixth place in Saturday's race in the following races. He achieved his best result of the weekend with third place in the second race ahead of Gert Krestinov (EST/Motoxtreme Honda) and Victor Alonso Rodilla (E/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by DVAG). Fifth place in the third race was enough to secure him a place on the podium for the second time this season. He scored one point more than Fredriksen, who won the third race after retiring in the second, and Spies, who rounded off the top five in Tensfeld.
"I really enjoyed the track, but it was still a tough weekend. I worked hard with my team on the chassis setup, which helped. I had good starts and consistent races, everything went well. I'm delighted to be back on the podium, just like in Dreetz," said a satisfied Talviku.
Max Nagl had to fight his way up from the back of the field in both races on Sunday. He retains the lead in the championship, but his advantage over Van de Moosdijk has been reduced to 24 points. Spies, Talviku and Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who won all the Red Bull Holeshots at the weekend, follow in the rest of the standings.
All races from both days of the event can be viewed free of charge as re-livestreams via the ADAC MX Masters playlist on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel.
