The junior classes of the ADAC MX Masters provided some exciting races in Dreetz at the weekend. Raivo Laicans (LAT/Sturm STC Racing) won the event classification in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 for the second time in a row. ADAC MX Youngster Cup: Mads Fredsoe wins with consistency

It was difficult for all riders to achieve consistent results in the deep sand and warm temperatures. Mads Fredsoe scored the most points in the three races. After finishing third in the first race behind Markuss Kokins (LVA/Kosak Racing Team) and Maxime Grau (F/WZ-Racing KTM) on Saturday, he won the second race on Sunday and finished fifth in the third race. Quentin Prugnieres struggled with mediocre starts and crashes and finished one point behind the second place finisher in the event. Bradley Mesters (NL/Kosak Racing Team) jumped onto the podium in Dreetz with victory in the third race after failing to finish in the top five in the first two races. Nicolai Skovbjerg (DK/Wozniak MX Racing Team) and Liam Owens (AU/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna) rounded off the top five. Prugnieres retained the championship lead and is ahead of Grau, Mesters, Skovbjerg and Fredsoe in the standings.

‘I worked hard on riding in sand over the winter, and that paid off today. I'm getting better and better after my hand injury and, despite a crash in the first race, I achieved three consistent results and had a very good weekend,’ said Fredsoe.

ADAC MX Junior Cup 125: Raivo Laicans continues to improve

Raivo Laicans was the only rider in the class to finish in the top three in both races, securing his first race win of the season in the second race. This meant another overall victory for him.

Dean Gregoire (NL/Schmicker Racing/Motivation Motorsport KTM) won the first race but was involved in a crash at the start of the second race and fought his way back to fifth place. This put him in second place overall ahead of Ian Ampoorter, who finished fourth and second in the races and took the championship lead. Moritz Ernecker (A/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) won the two Red Bull Holeshots and thus all the starts so far this season. With second and seventh places, he finished the weekend in fourth place ahead of Mike Visser (NL/Team Ties Pol Motors-GasGas). Behind the new leader Ampoorter, Laicans, Ernecker, Ricardo Bauer (A/MSC Imbach MX Racing Team), who had to retire in the first race, and Visser are now in the championship standings.

‘For the third time in a row, I'm on the third step of the overall podium and now have the Red Plate in my hands. That's a great feeling, especially after two very tough races,’ beamed Ampoorter.

ADAC MX Junior Cup 85: Harry Dale fights back in duel with teammate

The ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 promised plenty of excitement with championship leaders Lucas Leok (EST/KTM MX Futures) and Harry Dale tied on points. In the first race, Luca Nierychlo (D/KTM MX Futures) took the lead with the Red Bull Holeshot, but was pushed out of the lead by Leok in the second corner. Dale crashed in the starting chaos and had to start the race from the back of the field. Leok rode a controlled and unchallenged race, winning by a large margin ahead of Marten Raud and Patriks Cirulis (LAT/Schmicker Racing). Dale fought his way back to fourth place just a few metres before the end of the race ahead of Kenzo Jaspers (NL/Huttenmetaall AKbouw Racing Junior Team). In the second race, Leok crashed on the opening lap and started the chase from the back of the field, while Dale took the lead early on and won the race ahead of Raud, John Kranhold (D/SixtySeven Racing Husqvarna), Jarno Jansen (CH/SixtySeven Racing Husqvarna) and Luca Nierychlo (D/KTM MX Futures). Leok crashed several times but still finished the race in sixth place. Raud won the event ahead of Dale, Leok, Jansen and Kranhold. Dale now leads the championship ahead of Leok, Raud, Jansen and Kranhold.

‘I'm very happy and didn't expect to win. Good starts laid a solid foundation and then everything just went perfectly for me,’ said a delighted Raud.

Team standings: Kosak Racing Team shines

The ADAC MX Masters team standings are based on the best result achieved by each team in each class, with the result in the ADAC MX Masters class counting double. In Dreetz, the Kosak Racing Team won as the best team ahead of Becker Racing and the KTM Sarholz Racing Team, which also corresponds to the standings in the team championship. The results of the ADAC MX Masters class do not count in the Young Talents team standings. Here, victory also went to the Kosak Racing Team ahead of Sturm STC Racing and WZ-Racing KTM. In the championship, the Kosak Racing Team took the lead ahead of WZ-Racing KTM and Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna.

All races from both days of the event can be viewed as re-livestreams or as individual races free of charge via the ADAC MX Masters playlist on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel. The full results from the weekend are available here.
