Tixier claims his first ADAC MX Masters race win of the season in Bielstein

Jordi Tixier becomes the fourth race winner of the current ADAC MX Masters season. Oriol Oliver continues his winning run in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Áron Katona wins qualifying in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85.

Big crowds enjoyed sunny weather and good racing conditions on the opening day of round four of the ADAC MX Masters in Bielstein. And in Jordi Tixier (F/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek) they witnessed a new race winner this season. Oriol Oliver (E/WZ Racing) continued his winning run in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup at the “Waldkurs”. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, qualifying and the Last Chance Race took place. Áron Katona (HU/HTS KTM) set the fastest qualifying time to secure pole position for Sunday’s two races.

ADAC MX Masters: Jordi Tixier is back

In Saturday’s opening ADAC MX Masters race, Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) sprinted over the Red Bull Holeshot line in first place. However, he was then passed on the opening lap by Jordi Tixier and Tom Koch (D/KTM Kosak Racing Team). Championship leader Max Nagl (D/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek) crashed at the start and was forced to launch a fightback from the back of the field. Adam Sterry (GB/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) passed Jakub Teresak (CZ/Enduro Koch Racing) and Ludwig in the first three laps to storm from fifth to third place. The top five remained this way to the finish, with Tixier claiming his first win of the season, ahead of Koch, Sterry, Ludwig and Teresak. Nagl was able to battle his way to sixth place by the end of the race. Maximilian Spies (D/KTM Kosak Racing Team) retired on the opening lap following a crash. Henry Jacobi (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) took part in qualifying after undergoing a shoulder operation earlier this week, but then decided against starting in the race.

“I really enjoyed the race. I knew that I could get a good result if I made a good start, although I have only been practicing Supercross recently. That seems to be a good recipe for success, as I found good lines and was able to ride my own race. I am very happy with my first race win of the year,” said a delighted Tixier after the race.

ADAC MX Youngster Cup: Oriol Oliver leads the WZ Racing trio home

Oriol Oliver again made his mark on the opening race of the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. He overtook his team-mates Cato Nickel (D/WZ-Racing) and Mike Gwerder (CH/WZ-Racing) to take the lead within the first six laps. One lap later, Gwerder and Nickel swapped positions. The top three then remained unchanged for the rest of the race. By the finish, Oliver had opened a lead of over 17 seconds. Gwerder also had a lonely race, finishing ten seconds clear of Nickel, who came under increasing pressure towards the end of the race from Max Palsson (S/Kosak Racing Team). Jan Wagenknecht (CZ) rounded out the top five.

“My start was not so good, as it was very slippery for the first few laps after the track was watered. For this reason, I was patient with my attacks at first. I took the lead after a mistake from Cato and was then able to steadily pull away,” said Oliver, pleased with his victory.
