Is the ADAC MX Masters set for a shake-up in Randers?

Denmark hosts the ADAC MX Masters for the first time. Max Nagl, Cato Nickel and Janis Martins Reisulis lead the championship. The chasing pack are closing in.

This weekend (27th/28th May), the ADAC MX Masters travels abroad to Randers, as the series makes its first appearance in Denmark. Three classes will roll up to the starting gate: ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup and ADAC MX Junior Cup 125. The race offers many good riders from Scandinavia the opportunity to test themselves against the established top stars in the series. Cans can watch the races live at the track or via a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters and on the new ADAC Motorsports YouTube channel (youtube.com/adacmotorsports).

As the track in Randers is uncharted territory for the majority of the riders, there could be a shake-up on the cards in all three classes – particularly as all the championship leaders saw their leads cut last time out in Mölln. In the ADAC MX Masters class, Adam Sterry (UK/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) is hoping to carry the momentum gained from his first overall victory in the championship to Denmark, where he will be looking to take another chunk out of the lead held by Max Nagl (D/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek). Henry Jacobi (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) could also close the gap to Nagl, who struggled with technical issues in Mölln. Tom Koch (D/KTM Kosak Racing Team) suffered a DNF there, but has shown good pace, which he will be hoping to convert into good results in Denmark. Rookies Maximilian Spies (D/Kosak Racing Team) and Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) are establishing themselves more firmly among the front-runners in this class and will be determined to make an impact again in Randers. Jordi Tixier (F/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek) and Stefan Ekerold (D/Team Bauerschmidt MB33) will be striving to return to the kind of results they have become accustomed to. As well as the likes of Tim Koch (D/visuAlz Production), Nico Koch (D/Becker Racing) and Boris Maillard (F/stielergruppe.mx Johannes-Bikes Suzuki), some strong riders from Scandinavia will use the opportunity to showcase their talent in the strong ADAC MX Masters field.

As well as the ADAC MX Masters class, the two junior classes – the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 – will also line up in Randers. In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Cato Nickel (D/WZ-Racing) defended his championship lead in Mölln, but finds himself embroiled in a close battle at the top of the table with team-mates Mike Gwerder (CH) und Oriol Oliver (E). Edvards Bidzans (LVA/Sixty Seven) has also consistently been in contention for the podium places. Peter König (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) is hoping for a return to the overall podium in the Danish sand. Another with his sights set on the podium is local favourite Rasmus Pedersen (DK/Filten Racing).

In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, reigning champion Janis Martins Reisulis (LAT/Hamstra MX Team) has had his lead at the top of the table cut by the chasing pack of Maximilian Werner (D/Fantic Factory Team Maddii), Kasimir Hindersson (FIN/Motovation Motorsport) and Gyan Doensen (NL/WZ-Racing), who are all level on points.

Fans can purchase tickets on the gate, with reduced price tickets starting at 10 euros (50 DKK) and standard tickets costing 15 euros (100 DKK). Admission is free for children aged seven and under. Furthermore, family and weekend tickets are also available at special prices. From 12:15 to 12:45 on Sunday, Max Nagl, Adam Sterry, Henry Jacobi and Tom Koch will attend the autograph session at the ADAC MX Masters truck.
