This weekend (2nd/3rd July), the Bielstein Waldkurs hosts round three of the ADAC MX Masters, complete with the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125. The track on the Drabenderhöhe hill combines a classic, natural layout with modern jumps and obstacles, and is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Europe. MXGP rider Henry Jacobi and Swiss champion Valentin Guillod will be making guest appearances and, like Jordi Tixier and Tom Koch, will be out to break Max Nagl’s winning run. In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, championship leader Guillem Farres is the man to catch. Meanwhile, the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 is set for its second event of the season, having not featured at the last race weekend. Fans can watch the races at the track, or via a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters, from 12:30 on Saturday and 10:10 on Sunday.

Max Nagl (GER) from the Krettek-Haas-Racing-Team leads the ADAC MX Masters as he heads to the idyllic Waldkurs track in Bielstein, where he won all three races last year. The first two events of the season saw the Husqvanra rider win all but one race, which he lost on the Saturday in Möggers to reigning ADAC MX Masters champion Jordi Tixier (FRA) from the KTM Sarholz Racing Team. Tom Koch (GER) from the Kosak Racing Team continued his recovery from injury in Möggers, and showed signs of a return to his former strength, narrowly missing out on taking a race win. Tixier and Koch look set to be the main rivals to Nagl in the championship, but MXGP rider and 2018 ADAC MX Masters champion Henry Jacobi (GER) from the JM Honda Racing Team could also have a say at the front of the field on his guest appearance. The same can be said of Swiss champion Valentin Guillod (SUI) from the Ixs Hostettler Yamaha Team, who is riding for SHR Motorsports. Adam Sterry (GBR) and Stefan Ekerold (GER) complete the top five in the championship table, and are well capable of claiming a spot on the podium should the opportunity arise. Local favourite Lukas Platt (GER), Tim Koch (GER), Michael Sandner (AUT), Gert Krestinov (EST), Johannes Klein (AUT) and Boris Maillard (FRA) are also hoping for good races.

As well as the ADAC MX Masters, the programme for Bielstein also features two junior classes: the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125. In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, the dominant rider from the season-opener, Guillem Farres (ESP) from Raths Motorsports, tops the table. However, the opposition, led by Mike Gwerder (SUI) from WZ-Racing, Jörgen-Mattias Talviku (EST) from MX-Handel Racing and Camden Mc Lellan (ZAF) from the TBS Conversions Racing Team, have proven that he is beatable. The current leader in the EMX250 European championship, Rick Elzinga (NDL) from the Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team, will be making his debut in the 2022 ADAC MX Youngster Cup and is another favourite to do well at the event. Schmicker Racing’s Maximilian Spies (GER) and Noah Ludwig (GER) from the Becker Racing team are another two riders who will justifiably have their sights set on top results.

The ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 rolls to the start gate for the second time this season, having not featured at the last event. Having kicked off the season in the deep sand of Dreetz, the class is led by Ivano Van Erp (NED) of SHR Motorsports, ahead of Julius Mikula (CZE) on the KTM and reigning ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 champion Viteszlav Marek (CZE). However, Bence Pergel (HUN) from the HTS team surprised many on his guest appearance in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup in Möggers, claiming a race win and other good results. As such, he could also be another to look out for in the 125cc class on the firm ground of the Waldkurs track. Further favourites include the Reisulis (EST) brothers, of whom Karlis Alberts has already taken one race win this season, while Janis Martins lies in the top five of the championship standings. Maximilian Werner (GER) has switched to the DIGA Procross KTM Racing team since the season-opener, and is looking to improve on fourth place in the table. Lotte van Drunen (NDL) is also set to make her much-anticipated debut in the championship.

During the autograph session from 11:45 to 12:15 on Sunday, Max Nagl, Jordi Tixier, Tom Koch, Henry Jacobi and Lukas Platt will be available to sign autographs and pose for photos at the ADAC MX Masters Truck.
