Mads Sjöholm needs help from the MX scene: account now open for donations

Denmark’s Sjöholm suffered serious, lasting injuries in a crash that has left him facing huge challenges.

The BVZ Racing driver, who spent many years riding in the ADAC MX Masters, broke his spine in a crash during the first practice session at the EXM Open in Arco, Italy. Since then, he has been paralysed from the chest downward. He also suffered various broken ribs, a bruised kidney and spleen, and a serious lung injury in the crash. He was very well looked after and operated on in Italy. Sjöholm returned home to Denmark roughly one month ago, where he is now continuing to receive treatment.

Mads is coping admirably with the situation and is looking to the future. Despite this, he and his family now face huge challenges, which they require assistance to overcome. For example, Mads must give up his student flat and the necessary modifications to his parents’ house will have major financial ramifications. Moving to a different region means Mads will also lose his place at university, where he has been studying law. The whole family has always been behind the sport, and has given everything to support him in his racing. In order to help Mads and his family come to terms with the totally new living conditions, a PayPal account has been set up for donations. If everyone just does a little, we can achieve a lot together for Mads: Mads Sjöholm Foundation.
