Local favourites Razoon occupy front row of the grid at the Red Bull Ring

Mark Kastelic (18/SLO) secured pole position for race two of the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday. He stopped the clock at 1:28.954 minutes in a Porsche 911 GT3 R to present his team, Razoon – more than racing, with a first pole at its home event in Austria. Team-mate Leo Pichler (24/AUT) was 0.213 seconds slower in second place, ensuring the front row of the grid will be entirely in the hands of the local favourites.

“It just couldn’t have gone any better. I have wished for this to happen the whole time,” said the jubilant 18-year-old rookie, who shares the Porsche with Pavel Lefterov (28/BGR). “Today’s lap times were a little slower than yesterday, and I initially had the feeling that I was very slow. I put everything on the line on my final lap, and the time was okay. When they told me over the radio that I was on pole, I could not believe it. Now we have to win. We have the best starting position and there are no more excuses.”

The drivers headed into the second qualifying of the 2026 season in a cool seven degrees but bright sunshine. The top times again seemed to change hands every second, until the two Razoon Porsche landed at the top of the timing sheet right at the end of the session. Yesterday’s race winners will start from third on the grid. Felix Hirsiger (27/CHE/Liqui Moly Team Engstler Motorsport) was 0.249 seconds off the fastest time in his Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2.

Hirsiger will be joined on the second row by Tim Zimmermann (29/Langenargen/FK Performance Motorsport) in the best-placed BMW M4 GT3 Evo, ahead of fellow BMW racer Sandro Holzem (21/Polch/Schubert Motorsport), who starts fifth.

The race begins at 15:10 on Sunday and will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV station Sport1. It is worth tuning in from 15:00, so as not to miss highlights of yesterday’s sensational opening race at the Red Bull Ring. The race will also be streamed live on Joyn, ServusTV On and Youtube.com/ADACMotorsports.
