“Third time’s a charm” is a well-known saying, meaning that, if two attempts have failed, a third is more likely to bring success. Bremen-based racing team FK Performance Motorsport is now hoping to prove the saying right, and will line up in the ADAC GT Masters with three BMW M4 GT3 Evo in 2026. At the wheel of the third car will be Jan Duran (18/ESP) and Joseph Ellerine (22/ZAF).
This will be the first season with three cars for FK Performance Motorsport, who have finished runner-up in both the Driver and Team competitions for the last two years. In the past few weeks, the team had already confirmed the driver pairings of Tim Zimmermann (29/Langenargen)/Leyton Fourie (20/ZAF) and Storm Gjerdrum (16/NOR)/Fabio Rauer (19/Stolberg).
Jan Duran gained GT experience in his native Spain, before enjoying success in an international GT4 series and being crowned “Rookie of the Year”. He has now been called up to the squad of official BMW drivers and will start in the ADAC GT Masters. “Stepping up to the GT3 class with a successful team like FK Performance Motorsport is an amazing opportunity. We have grand ambitions and are really looking forward to this season,” says Duran.
23-year-old Joseph Ellerine is a familiar face, having already spent two years with FK Performance Motorsport in ADAC GT4 Germany. He gained his first experience in a GT3 car in his home country of South Africa, and is now looking forward to the exciting chance in the ADAC GT Masters. “I have a great team around me, and some experienced team-mates, from whom I can learn. Our main goal is to show competitive pace at race weekends, and to make progress over the course of the year,” says Ellerine. “With new circuits, at which I have not yet driven, such as the Salzburgring, I have another learning curve ahead of me – one that I am very much looking forward to!”
