ADAC GT Masters·12.7.2026

Day starts from pole for first time at the Nürburgring

Britain’s Jamie Day (20) secured the first pole position in the ADAC GT Masters for himself and his team, Comtoyou Racing. A time of 1:24.834 minutes put the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 top of the timing sheet in qualifying at the Nürburgring. This is the first pole position for an Aston Martin in the ADAC GT Masters since 2008.

“I am unbelievably happy. Not just for me, but above all for the whole team. They work so hard, and that has not previously been reflected in the results. We have fought so hard to get back on top, so the guys really deserve the praise,” said a delighted Day, who shares the Aston Martin with Baudouin Detout (25/FRA). “We don’t actually have a plan for the race, except to get out in front, open up a gap, and maintain it for the rest of the race.”

The second ADAC GT Masters qualifying session began in a pleasant 20 degrees on Sunday morning. The lead passed back and forth between Day and Kiano Blum (19/AUT). The Austrian from Haupt Racing Team, for whom the Nürburgring is a home event, ultimately had to settle for second place, missing out on the top time by 0.335 seconds in his Ford Mustang GT3. The guest starters from SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm made a big statement. Reigning ADAC GT4 Germany champion Jay Mo Härtling (23/Sprockhövel) set the third-fastest time in a Mercedes-AMG GT3, 0.443 seconds slower than pole-sitter Day.

Alexander Tauscher (23/Mitterfels/Razoon - more than Racing) also made a fine impression in his very first ADAC GT Masters qualifying. The rookie ended the session in fourth place, 0.519 seconds off the pace. Max Reis (19/Ramstein) completed the top five in another HRT Ford Mustang, 0.593 seconds behind Day.

The final ADAC GT Masters race of the weekend starts at 14:15 on Sunday and will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV on Sport1. The coverage also includes highlights of Saturday’s race. The race will also be streamed live on Joyn, ServusTV On and Youtube.com/ADACMotorsports.
