In 2025, SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm contested its first full season in the ADAC GT Masters. Despite a few setbacks through no fault of its own, the team looks back on the year positively. For 2026, the team is planning to challenge for the top positions.
The team led by Thomas Angerer fielded a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the traditional German GT3 championship. Jannes Fittje and Moritz Wiskirchen took the wheel of the car. Fittje and Wiskirchen finished the season in tenth place in the overall standings, which did not do justice to the drivers' performance, as repeated setbacks through no fault of their own set the two drivers back. Jannes Fittje secured pole position for the first race at Zandvoort, led it in commanding fashion and also set the fastest lap of the race before the car retired with technical problems. At the Salzburgring, too, the only Mercedes-AMG in the field was on course for a strong result on Sunday before the car was taken out through no fault of its own.
The highlight of the season for the team from Bad Hindelang was the first race at the Salzburgring. In the endurance race on the high-speed circuit, Fittje and Wiskirchen finished second, but the duo received full points in the championship as a guest starter won the race. The team also demonstrated its true potential at the season opener at the Lausitzring, finishing third in Sunday's race. The team was ranked third in the Silver Cup standings in the first race at Hockenheim.
'The ADAC GT Masters season was somewhat overshadowed by the incredible successes in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Nevertheless, it was a very strong performance in our first full year,’ said team owner Thomas Angerer. 'Jannes Fittje and Moritz Wiskirchen made a name for themselves throughout the season with fast lap times and strong battles on the track. Unfortunately, we had a lot of bad luck over the year, sometimes we were knocked out through no fault of our own or the technology failed. Jannes' pole position at Zandvoort, several fastest race laps and a race with maximum points at the Salzburgring remain. I think we have learned a lot and have no reason to hide in this top league! Moritz and Jannes have also grown and we are already looking forward to further GT3 races. I don't want to forget to mention the tireless work of Günter Aberer! Günni really gave his all around the clock and always managed to get a top car on the grid with our boys. This performance is absolutely key to our success!'
SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm is planning to field up to two Mercedes-AMG GT3s in the ADAC GT Masters for the 2026 season. The team wants to build on this year's experience and establish itself among the front-runners in the championship. SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm still has driver seats available for the 2026 ADAC GT Masters.
