A celebratory evening, two high-flyers in the closing stages of the season, an entry in the history books, and a design worthy of a champion.
In-form duo at the end of the season
Two wins, a podium and a pole position: that is the impressive record of Denis Bulatov, Nico Hantke and their team Scherer Sport PHX from the final two events of the season at the Red Bull Ring and in Hockenheim. A total haul of 81 points. Nobody was better – not even the eventual champions. And their form was reflected in a remarkable charge up the Drivers’ Championship: they ended the season fourth in the overall standings, just eleven points off the top three. After the Salzburgring weekend, which the duo in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 was unable to attend due to a previous crash, they were lagging behind in tenth place.
A design worthy of a champion for the Ford Mustang GT3
After winning the Drivers, Team, Silver Cup and “Road to DTM” titles in Saturday’s race at the Hockenheimring, the #1 Ford Mustang GT3 of Haupt Racing Team sported a special livery on Sunday. The areas at the front that were previously black now shone in gold. And looking resplendent at the rear of the Mustang were the signatures of all the team members involved in this success. The design brought the car luck, as the new champions won the final race of the 2025 season.
Successful title defence in the Pro-AM Cup
Alexander Schwarzer and Alexander Fach had every reason to celebrate after Saturday’s race. The Fach Auto Tech drivers claimed the sixth of seven victories in this season’s Pro-AM Cup and, in doing so, completed a successful defence of the title they won last year. Only three other drivers have achieved that feat in the history of the ADAC GT Masters: Toni Seiler was the first winner of the newly-introduced “amateur classification” in 2009 and 2010. Remarkably, Remo Lips tasted success three years in a row, winning the “Trophy” competition in 2016 and the following two seasons. The last man to successfully defend the title was Florian Spengler in 2021 and 2022.
Youngest two-time champion ever
This is a very special title for Salman Owega, who has become the youngest two-time champion in the history of the ADAC GT Masters. His first title came in 2023. Now, at the age of 20 years and 132 days, he is the champion again. Only four drivers before him have won two titles, and none of them were as young as Owega: Elias Seppänen 2023/2024 (20 years/354 days), Kelvin van der Linde 2014/2019 (23 years/87 days), Sebastian Asch 2012/2015 (29 years/122 days) and Christopher Mies 2016/2021 (32 years/167 days).
Title won with races to come
Salman Owega and Finn Wiebelhaus wrapped up the title in the penultimate race of the season. Six other drivers or driver pairings have also achieved this in the ADAC GT Masters. Some were in even more of a rush: in 2019, Kelvin van der Linde and Patric Niederhauser actually secured the title with one race weekend remaining. The Audi duo travelled to the finale as champions, before helping HCB-Rutronik Racing to the Team title with victory in the final race.
