In the ADAC GT Masters, Jannes Fittje and Moritz Wiskirchen share a Mercedes-AMG GT3 run by SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm. A good relationship, trust and mutual respect are essential, in order to be able to perform out on the track. But aside from tenths of seconds, tyre pressure and set-up, how well do the two team-mates really know each other? The answer, and a few anecdotes, can be found in this rather different interview.
Which of you would find a hotel?
Jannes Fittje: I would say me. I think I am probably better equipped to do so, and probably have higher standards (laughs).
Which of you has the bigger suitcase?
Moritz Wiskirchen: My race bag is definitely larger.
Jannes Fittje: If we’re talking about the race bag, then Moritz’s is twice as big as mine. I used to have a huge bag before, but then deliberately bought myself a small one. That way, even if I wanted to take more stuff with me, I could not fit it in.
Which of you is most likely to leave something at home?
Jannes Fittje: I think, given how young we are, we are both prone to forgetting things now and then.
Team principal Thomas Angerer in the background: We still have a trophy here that Jannes won in 2022, which now travels with us, because he always forgets it.
Moritz Wiskirchen: I guess that answers the question (laughs).
Which of you is most punctual?
Moritz Wiskirchen: We are both really punctual, so nobody is guilty there.
Which of you has the better taste, when it comes to food?
Moritz Wiskirchen: We eat the same things at the circuit, but I could not tell you what Jannes heats at home.
If you were in any doubt, which of you would sort out a restaurant?
Jannes Fittje: I think I would do that. I have certain expectations … (laughs).
Moritz Wiskirchen: You say that, but you don’t know where I go to eat …
Thomas Angerer: I have to say, Moritz is an outstanding cook.
Jannes Fittje: There we have it, then. Moritz would cook, and I would eat it (laughs).
Which of you is the biggest slob?
Jannes Fittje: Neither of us is messy.
Which of you is most likely to have a heated discussion with the engineer or your team principal?

Jannes Fittje: Definitely me! (Laughs).
Which of you is most addicted to using your mobile phone?
Jannes Fittje: I guess we both use them too much. It probably tends to be me though, because I have a lot to do and organise in the background. However, there is definitely an argument for saying that we are both on our phones too much.
Which of the classic apps do you have open?
Moritz Wiskirchen: Instagram.
Jannes Fittje: WhatsApp, Instagram, mails.
Which of you has the most annoying habit, and what is it?
Both drivers turn to Thomas Angerer: Do we have any annoying habits?
Thomas Angerer: Jannes tends to over-explain things. That is not meant in a nasty way, it is just a fact.
What quality would you steal from the other person?
Moritz Wiskirchen: Your motorsport experience.
