20th anniversary: 2026 season kicks off against Alpine backdrop

20th season of the ADAC GT Masters in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Six race weekends with four events on the DTM platform. Pirelli remains tyre partner of the ADAC GT Masters.

What better place to celebrate a 20th birthday than in the Alps? The ADAC GT Masters will kick off the 2026 season at the Red Bull Ring from 24th to 26th April. As such, the ADAC’s GT3 series will contest the first event of the season in Austria for the first time in its 20-year history. The calendar features a total of six events in Austria, the Netherlands and Germany. The ADAC GT Masters remains at the forefront of the “Road to DTM” development programme. A healthy prize purse awaits the competitors again in the 20th anniversary season of the ADAC GT Masters. More than € 570,000 of financial and non-cash prizes will reward the drivers and teams for their successes.

Two of the six events in 2026 will be held in the popular endurance format. At the third race weekend at the Dekra Lausitzring (19th to 21st June) and at the Salzburgring (4th to 6th September), the field will contest two 80-minute races with two pit stops, including a driver changeover, a tyre change and refuelling. The season opener at the Red Bull Ring (24th to 26th April), the second event in Zandvoort (22nd to 24th May) in the Netherlands, round four at the Nürburgring, and the finale in Hockenheim (9th to 11th October) will feature the traditional sprint format, with the two races each lasting one hour and including one driver changeover.

The future looks strong with exclusive tyre partner Pirelli

The ADAC GT Masters and exclusive tyre partner Pirelli have extended their successful partnership. The Italian company, which also supplies Formula 1 and MotoGP, won a transparent and non-discriminatory tender process and will continue to supply tyres for the ADAC’s GT3 series. The successful partnership dates back as far as 2015. In 2025, Pirelli introduced a new tyre type to the ADAC GT Masters – the P Zero DHG. As well as improving the tyre’s performance on the track, the focus was also on protecting the environment. The tyres contain a sustainable natural rubber component and are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

“Road to DTM” competitions offers opportunities for promotion

Supporting and developing young drivers remains an important cornerstone of the ADAC GT Masters. The “Road to DTM” takes young drivers from the German Kart Championship (DKM), via ADAC GT4 Germany and the ADAC GT Masters, to the DTM. The development programme is now entering its third year. The winner of this classification receives the entry fee for the following year’s DTM season. The competition is open to any drivers below the age of 25 and with a Silver driver classification. Points are awarded for individual qualifying results and joint race results. At the same time, great emphasis is placed on responsible and respectful driving, which is why penalties and warnings result in points being deducted. The 2025 “Road to DTM” winner is Finn Wiebelhaus (19/Oberhausen/Haupt Racing Team).
