Toksport WRT back for another shot at the ADAC GT Masters

Toksport WRT will line up in the ADAC GT Masters again in 2021. Last year, the racing team from Quiddelbach near the Nürburgring contested its first full season in the German GT Championship. In its rookie year, the team was in contention for the title right down to the season finale, but eventually came up just short. They now return for a second shot at the title: Mercedes-AMG drivers Maro Engel and Luca Stolz will again share the driving duties in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

After successful test outings in the 2019 ADAC GT Masters, the Toksport WRT team, which also enjoys success on the rally scene, impressed from the word go last season: the opening round at the Lausitzring produced the first pole position and a maiden victory. Stolz and Engel emerged as the leading Mercedes-AMG duo and were still in with a shout of clinching the title ahead of the final race in Oschersleben in November. In the end, they finished third in the Driver and Team competitions.

The goal has already been set for the 2021 season: the team has its sights set firmly on the Driver and Team titles. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, the model with the most race wins in last year’s ADAC GT Masters, is the car of choice for Toksport WRT as it embarks on this quest.
