Zakspeed in ADAC GT Masters with Mercedes-Benz: Luca Ludwig as first signing

Team Zakspeed will return to professional motorsport in 2014. After a one-year break and the successful development of Zakspeed Classics, the decision to return to motorsport and join the ADAC GT Masters was made in February. Following sporadic outings in the past in the ADAC GT Masters with a Dodge Viper and a McLaren, Team BKK Mobil Oil Zakspeed are to field a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in all Super Sports Car League races.

Their first signing is currently driver Luca Ludwig, whose father used to race for the well established team from Niederzissen, winning the German Racing Championship at the wheel of the legendary Zakspeed Ford Capri Turbo back in 1981. Luca Ludwig is extremely familiar with the ADAC GT Masters. The winner of seven ADAC GT Masters races finished his debut year (2009) as ADAC GT Masters runner-up in a Callaway Corvette GT3 and went on to become Germany's first GT champion one year later.

Not only with regard to driver selection have Zakspeed stuck with tradition but also in the choice of brand. The team and Mercedes-Benz worked together during Zakspeed's DTM days. Zakspeed will tackle the challenge of contesting the ADAC GT Masters with the support of partner, BKK Mobil Oil.
