ADAC Formel 4·31.1.2020

Prema announce next driver signing: Gabriele Mini: The Italian teenager is an up-and-coming young talent. His karting successes speak for themselves.

Gabriele Mini will make his Formula 4, single-seater debut with Italian racing team, Prema Powerteam, in 2020 and will contest the full season in the Italian series while competing in a number of ADAC Formula 4 races. The sixth season of the ADAC series for juniors will kick off on the weekend of April 24th-26th in Oschersleben. SPORT1 will again broadcast racing from the ADAC High-Speed Academy on TV this year.

Mini, who will be 15 on March 20th, is one of Italy's up-and-coming motor racing talents. His successes in karting speak for themselves. Apart from achieving excellent results, he is also amazingly consistent. Following his debut in 2015, Mini won the Italian championship twice in a row and finished second in the CIK FIA Kart World Championship. He won the OKJ class of the WSK Super Master Series in 2018. Just last year, he took two more second places in the 2019 FIA European Championship and WSK Champions Cup.

He is following that up in 2020 by getting started in single-seater motor racing and thus taking another essential step on the way to turning pro. "It's going to be great to spend my first year in a single-seater with an Italian team," said Mini, who is also well aware that he still has a lot to learn this season. "But I feel ready and can't wait to get in my F4 car and work with my engineer."

Prema Team Principal Angelo Rosin is also looking forward to having the talented Italian on board. "Gabriele is one of the top drivers to emerge from the karting season. He has the talent and youth to learn a lot this year, for sure, and is ready for the next step."
