Swiss driver Saucy makes first move: 19-year-old driver posts first fastest time ahead of Théo Pourchaire in practice at Zandvoort

Driving for French team R-ace GP, Gregoire Saucy (19, Switzerland) was the first to go fastest on a wet track at Zandvoort in the Netherlands, setting a time of 1:48.268 minutes during the ADAC Formula 4's first practice session. Théo Pourchaire (15, France, US Racing CHRS), who is the overall leader in the standings, came home in second place followed by Saucy's team-mate, Michael Belov (17, Russia, R-ace GP).

Gianluca Petecof (16, Brazil, Prema Powerteam) was fourth while ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Niklas Krütten (16, Germany, Van Amersfoort Racing) slotted into P5 behind him. P6 went to Oliver Rasmussen (18, Denmark, Prema Powerteam). Alessandro Famularo (15, Venezuela, Prema Powerteam) took P7. Rookie Joshua Dürksen (15, Paraguay, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) was eighth, and Arthur Leclerc (18, Monaco, US Racing CHRS), the younger brother of Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc finished ninth. Arthur is currently in second place overall in the standings in the run-up to the races on the North Sea coast.

Racing will continue for the ADAC High-Speed Academy's drivers this afternoon with another practice session at 3.15 pm. Qualifying is then next up on Saturday morning at 8.00 am followed by the ninth race of the season at 1:20 pm. The 19 drivers will contest Race 10 at 9:50 am and Race 11 at 5.00 pm on Sunday, after which, we will have our 'half-time' champion before the next ADAC Formula 4 highlight gets under way at the Nürburgring in a week's time.
