ADAC Formel 4·10.8.2019

Pourchaire and Petecof claim pole positions: The overall leader will start the first race from P1. The Brazilian will be on pole in Race 2

The overall championship leader, Théo Pourchaire (15, France US Racing CHRS) and Gianluca Petecof (16, Brazil, Prema Powerteam) have qualified in pole position for the ADAC Formula 4 races at Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Pourchaire went fastest in Q1 with a time of 1:48.631 while in the second session, Petecof set a 1:45.988 to go faster than anyone else on the circuit in the North Sea dunes as the track got drier.

It was not until he posted his last timed lap in Q1 that Pourchaire was able to beat the rookie, Paul Aron (15, Estonia, Prema Powerteam) and Aron's team-mate Gianluca Petecof (16, Brazil) to take the top spot on the timesheet. Michael Belov (17, Russia, R-ace GP), Roman Stanek (15, Czech Republic, US Racing CHRS), Alessandro Ghiretti (17, France, US Racing CHRS) and Arthur Leclerc (18, Monaco, US Racing CHRS), the younger brother of Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc slotted into place behind them to claim their positions on the grid for this Saturday afternoon's race; Arthur is currently second overall in the standings.

The grid order for the tenth race of this year's Formula 4 season on Sunday morning will be as follows: Petecof then Aron, Dennis Hauger (16, Norway, Van Amersfoort Racing), Leclerc, Pourchaire, Oliver Rasmussen (18, Denmark, Prema Powerteam) and Stanek.

Conditions for the two qualifying sessions were similar to those for practice on Friday with a heavy shower of rain just as the 19 drivers were about to leave the pit lane. The track then gradually dried out and times got much faster.

The ADAC High-Speed Academy's juniors will really get down to serious business in the first race of the weekend at 1.20 pm. On Sunday, the traffic lights will turn green for Race 10 at 9.50 am and at 5.00 pm for Race 11, after which, we will know who will travel to the Nürburgring as 'half-time' champion to contest the next highlight in the ADAC Formula 4 series.

SPORT1 will broadcast the ADAC Formula 4 races on TV and online on SPORT1.de. Racing can also be watched as live stream at adac.de/motorsport, on the Facebook page of the ADAC Formula 4 and at youtube.com/adac with a choice of German or English commentary.
