ADAC Formel 4·26.4.2019

Pole positions for Petecof und Hauger : Brazil's Ferrari Junior Petecof and Red Bull Junior Hauger in a class of their own

Ferrari Junior Gianluca Petecof and Norway's Dennis Hauger have booked pole position for the first two ADAC Formula 4 races of the season. Petecof, who is about to start his second season with Prema Powerteam, claimed the first pole of the new campaign for the race on Saturday (14:35 CEST) with a time of 01:23.664 minutes. In second and third place respectively were Czech rookie Roman Stanek of reigning team champions US Racing CHRS and Paul Aron of Prema Powerteam. SPORT1 will once again be showing the races from the ADAC High-Speed Academy this year. The action will also be streamed live on the ADAC Formula 4 Facebook channel, on YouTube.com/adac, sport1.de and via adac.de/motorsport.

Theo Pourchaire from France, Niklas Krütten, Ido Cohen, Oliver Rasmussen, Alessandro Famularo and Lucas Alecco Roy completed the Top Ten. The fastest qualifier in this session was actually Hauger, but he was demoted ten places as a penalty for two infringements in free practice and will consequently be starting the race from eleventh place.

In Q2, however, Hauger was flawless: the Red Bull junior clocked the fastest lap of the day with a time of 01:23.271, thereby securing pole position for the second round of the season on Sunday (10:05 CEST). Next to him on the front row will be the 16-year-old Brazilian, Petecof. Lining up behind them will be the impressive rookie Roman Stanek, Theo Pourchaire from France, Niklas Krütten from Trier, Paul Aron, Alessandro Ghiretti, rookie Joshua Dürksen, Oliver Rasmussen and Gregoire Saucy from Switzerland.

The starting order for the third and final race of the weekend on Sunday (14:40 CEST) will be determined by the result of the second race. The Top Eight will line up in reverse order, i.e. the driver who finishes eighth in Race 2 starts from pole position.
