ADAC Formel 4·1.3.2019

Paul Aron named as Prema's third driver for 2019: The young Estonian will contest a number of ADAC Formula 4 races in Season 5

Well-known name in the ADAC Formula 4 this year, as Paul Aron (15, Estonia), the younger brother of ex-Formula 4 driver Ralf Aron is set to line up for the Italian Prema Powerteam. The ADAC Formula 4 will get its fifth season under way at Oschersleben on the weekend of 26th - 28th April. All races will be broadcast live on Sport1 or online.

Paul is the third driver to sign for the Italian squad, joining Oliver Rasmussen (18, Denmark), who will contest every race in the German series, and Alessandro Famularo (16, Venezuela). Like Famularo, Aron will contest the full season in Italy plus a number of races in the ADAC High-Speed Academy.

"We are extremely satisfied with how our 2019 Formula 4 line-up is shaping up and we're looking forward to working with Paul," said Prema Team Principal Angelo Rosin. "It's always good to work with someone with such a great pedigree in karting, and although there will be a lot of new things to learn, we think he will gel with the team very quickly, becoming an immediate threat to the other frontrunners."

Aron's single-seater debut is the logical outcome of a successful karting career. In 2018, he won the CIK FIA European Championship, the WSK Champions Cup, the South Garda Winter Cup and finished third in the WSK Super Master Series.

Paul is also looking forward to his Formula 4 debut with Prema Powerteam and is keen for the season to get started: "Last year, I had a really successful season in karting and am looking forward to doing the same in car racing. Prema felt like the best option to carry on that winning path in Formula 4. I already got some insight into the team and series thanks to my brother, who drove for Prema and is a previous Italian Formula 4 championship winner. It would be great to follow in his footsteps and I can hardly wait for the season to start."

Ralf Aron, his 20-year-old brother, secured one win, two second and one third place in the inaugural season of the ADAC Formula 4 in 2015 and finished the year ninth overall. Plus, he won the title in the Italian counterpart to the series. He finished sixth last year in Formula 3 alongside team-mate Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher.
