Vesti out in front again in afternoon session: 16-year-old improves on lap time set in morning

Denmark's Frederik Vesti (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) clocked the fastest lap of the second ADAC Formula 4 free practice session at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, just as he had in the morning. Currently placed sixth in the drivers' championship, the Dane improved his morning lap time (01:31.281) by a good four tenths to 01:30.863 minutes. In bright sunshine, championship leader Lirim Zendeli (18, Germany, US Racing CHRS) set the second-best time ahead of rookie David Schumacher (16, Germany, US Racing CHRS), who also happens to be the son of ex-Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher.

Mick Wishofer (18, Austria, US Racing CHRS), preparing for his home race, finished the session fourth, followed by Charles Weerts (17, Belgium, Van Amersfoort Racing), Andreas Estner (17, Germany, Neuhauser Racing) and Liam Lawson (16, New Zealand, Van Amersfoort Racing). Enzo Fittipaldi (16, Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing), grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, posted the eighth-best time ahead of rookie Joey Alders (18, Netherlands, Van Amersfoort Racing) and Lucas Alecco Roy (21, Monaco, Van Amersfoort Racing).

This evening, starting at 18:35 CEST, the ADAC Formula 4 youngsters will be vying with each other in qualifying. SPORT1 shows the races live on TV. Alternatively, they can be watched online via the free livestreams provided by sport1.de/motorsport and youtube.com/adac.
