ADAC Formel 4·26.2.2018

Oliver Caldwell named as Prema’s third driver: British teenager had his first outing in the ADAC Formula 4 in 2017

The Italian championship-winning team has signed another new member. British driver, Oliver Caldwell (15, Great Britain), is set to return to the ADAC Formula 4 in 2018. After a valuable season training on the job in Formula 4 with starts in various series in England, Germany, Italy and most recently in the United Arab Emirates where he secured three wins, he will now contest a full season with Prema Powerteam this year, racing in the ADAC Formula 4 and in its Italian counterpart.

The young laddie from the south-east of England had his first race at a German track last year, contesting three fixtures at Oschersleben in July 2017 for ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV team, Mücke Motorsport, as a guest entrant.

Prema Team Principal Angelo Rosin is very impressed with the young driver's wide ranging ability. "Quite apart from his driving skills, he's already had a great deal of experience in a wide variety of cars at various circuits, which is very impressive given the fact that he's only 15. He's got what it takes to do well in 2018."

The 15-year-old is also keenly anticipating the start of the season and the first ADAC Formula 4 race at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (13th - 15th April): "It's just amazing to think what I can achieve with this team," says Caldwell. "With its fantastic record for success, Prema make the ideal foundations on which to base my future career, as they can give me the chance to make the big breakthrough at an international level."
