Caldwell with fastest lap of afternoon: Title favourite Lirim Zendeli finishes second, world champion's grandson Enzo Fittipaldi third

Oliver Caldwell (16, Great Britain, Prema Theodore Racing) set the fastest time in the ADAC Formula 4’s second practice session as temperatures reached over 30 degrees Celsius. With a time of 1:27.044 minutes, the British driver was a good tenth faster than the leader in the overall standings, Lirim Zendeli (18, Germany, US Racing CHRS). Enzo Fittipaldi (17, Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing), grandson of two-time Formula 1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, finished third.

Times in the second session were a little bit faster than they had been earlier this morning in FP1 when Frederik Vesti (16, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing) set the fastest time of 1:27.174 minutes. The Dane set this afternoon’s fifth-best time behind Liam Lawson (16, New Zealand, Van Amersfoort Racing). Son of ex-Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher, David Schumacher (16, Germany, US Racing CHRS) was best rookie in sixth place. They were followed home by Charles Weerts (17, Belgium, Van Amersfoort Racing), Mick Wishofer (18, Austria, US Racing CHRS), rookie Niklas Krütten (15, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV) and Jack Doohan (15, Australia, Prema Powerteam ), son of five-time motorcycling world champion Mick Doohan.

Qualifying for Saturday’s two races in the ADAC High-Speed Academy will be later this afternoon at 5:25 pm. The starting grid for Sunday’s race will be decided by result of the second race.
